Gateshead make the National League play offs with a 2-1 win over champions Chesterfield. My trip to see the Heed beat Barnet 3-1 in January was my second favourite game of the season after the Luzern home match. Sad indictment of Hibs season.

I think the use of VAR in the Champions League is so much better than England for example. Generally they stick with the refs call unless there’s a major error. And they don’t pore over replays for an age. I think a similar incident in the EPL and they’d be looking for ages to decide.

Southampton are looking good, really in the mood. Shay Adams 2nd goal was a nice 1-2 and finish. Good shot by Stuart Armstrong for the 3rd too. Aribo's a stylish player IMO, even if he did play for the Huns.

it's incredible how tight it is at the top now, Saints 3 points behind 3rd place Leeds with one game less played but three of their remaining games are away from home against Cardiff/ Leicester, and what could possibly be a huge last game of the season at Leeds.

i thought the preston player Holmes was having an absolute mare and did think they should sub him before HT which seldom happens nowadays but that's exactly what the Preston boss done, sub him with several minutes remaining before HT
