Is this a new signing target? Can he play beside Joe Newell in a 2? 😀

Thank goodness we won yesterday - spares me having to read posts about us needing a 'true winner' like Shinnie in our midfield as opposed to the silky skills and drive of Newell.

Say what you like about Willie Miller but he was praising Joe to the hilt on the radio post match.

Very good again yesterday. It was another unnecessary booking though but he probably watched Shinnie getting away with similar time after time and thought if its good for the goose.

I wonder if there was an element of premeditation because it means he'll be back for the hertz game.

If he was booked against Celtic on Wednesday or Livingston, he'd have been suspended for the derby.

Good shout, we’d miss him in any game but I would not have wanted to go into the derby without him. Although not ideal him missing Ross County away is not a disaster. Does highlight how reliant we are on Joe, Dylan and Jeggo remaining fit as I’d not see any suitable candidates to step into the CM role should we lose 2 of them at once.

He's playing a system and tactics that suit him much better and it's clear from his performances.

I was initially a bit worried about him and Levitt but the manager needs two players in the middle who can pass, and Jeggo/Campbell don't fit the bill.

Obviously don’t want Ross County game to be off as he would miss the derby. This is where it gets really annoying when some players get booked cheaply while others carry a cloak of protection ala Shinnie. Wonder if anyone else is near a ban. Wouldn’t surprise me if Miller is close giving the number of bookings.

I thought he was really good yesterday. Had been a wee bit off it last couple of games for me but back to his best yesterday.

From what i remember it is six that means a suspension but there is a number of games where yellows are scrubbed. Want to say 18 or 19.

Yes, 6 is a suspension, and the slate is wiped clean after 19.

You would think a better way of doing it would be a rolling 18 game period. In theory you could get 6 bookings in 18 games to trigger a 1 game ban but another could get booked in 6 games straight and not get a ban

He’s probably my favourite Hibs player of the post 2016 Cup Final era

When he came to us he had the moniker of “the lower league Messi” - anonymous for most of a game but would have fifteen minute spells where he was unplayable.

I think when he was playing alongside Steven Whittaker in midfield he came on leaps and bounds, and since then he’s been super consistent.

He’s a superb player and I’m glad he loves the club and city as he’s bordering on irreplaceable right now.

    Not sure about that.

He was excellent at the start of the season and was the real bright spot under LJ. If anything I’d suggest his individual performances haven’t been as good as they were before NM came in.

He was excellent on Sunday, but over the piece, if anything, I’d say our system and tactics aren’t getting the best out of him.

Joe has mostly been excellent since Jack Ross came in. Nothing to do with tactics. He's just a very good player.

Our system and tactics are getting more out of the team though.

Rather than be reliant on individual moments, we actually look like a team for the first time in god knows how long.

Has been largely very good for years now, but has been different class for the last 18 months/2 years now.

Player of the season by a mile for me so far. Miller and Rocky been excellent also, Joe is just a different class though.

Perfect player for us, got the bite and workrate to match his silky dribbling and passing. An excellent all action midfielder and should be our captian imo.
