2-1 flattered Hearts imo. Only got really got back into the game cause they had fresher legs after earlier subs.

Hibs could/should have put the game to bed but just needed a touch more composure on the break. Great save by Fraine at the end, last season we probably would have conceded at that point
Agreed. Hibs definitely the better outfit. The right result and always good to beat them. Their entitlement is off the scale no matter when we play them so always good to put them in their box.

Thought, until Baucom scored her brace and generally did well 2nd half, that Mickey was the most influential player on the park. Getting a decent manager back in has definitely halted any suggestion Hearts were progressing beyond us for the first time. Am afraid the Gibson tenure was an unfortunate one at a time other clubs were getting their things together- especially the Uglies.

Judy Murray was at the game, as was Elie Youan and NM and his coaching team. Good to see them seeing the club as more than just one dimensional. Well done, Hibees. Capital Cup retained and natural order very much back.

Scott likes to rotate the 9s. Have to say he made the right call today

ta, interesting i've not really noticed that, bit unfair on the lassie scoring a hattrick and then dropped and only getting the last 5 mins remaining of the next game, a tad unfair imo of course :) i'l look out for this in the next game

surprised Siobhan Hunter didn't get on

First ever women’s game for me today and my sons first trip to Easter Road.

Have to say the first half was a shocker. Maybe a bit of nerves with the crowd? Anyway much better second half. Thought that our number 8 showed a lot of tenacity and was great at winning the ball but not necessarily picking a pass. However in the 2nd half she hit some raking diagonals with a lot of quality. Marked difference after the break.

Also thought our left winger did well and was surprised she went off.

Fair play to the Jambo who set up their goal too, the footwork and cross was probably the best bit of individual skill in the game IMO.

I was there today. Really enjoyed it. I think people judge it on the mens game and it's not. It's different tactics and skills because of the difference between the sexes. We won some fantastic midfield battles and were really skillful today. The crosses and final ball let us down a lot but we were strong in some feisty battles and deserved our win..could've done without the nervy last 10 but deserved the win. Well done ladies.

We were the better team - Hearts seemed stronger and quicker in key areas but we set our stall up well and second half in particular won our key battles.

Improvement from under the previous manager for sure.

Nice to have a last minute scare that doesn’t end in heartbreak for once.

    This.
We won a Derby today and were the better team for most of the match. Happy days.

Scrappy first half which we appeared to dominate possession wise, second half we dominated all over the pitch until the last 15 minutes and they pulled one back, although the BBC stats seem to say otherwise. McAlonie & McGregor were both fantastic in midfield breaking up play and pushing us forward, and Baucum goals apart pressuring their defenders. Nervy finish but we really should have finished them off earlier.

Eddie and Lawson were looking pretty solid and didn't seem as tired as some others, I'd say a general rule in any game is don't change the CHs if you don't need to

Definitely, you can see the improvement with Scott being back. There was a clear plan with our signing policy and on the pitch.

One advantage of watching them at Easter Road opposed to Meadowbank is the vantage point gives you a better idea of the plan, in particular it was interesting to see how fluid the defence is as we constantly switched between having 2 at the back, to 3, to 4.

I thought McAlonie was the best player on the park, particularly in the 2nd half. She needs to learn to improve her decision making and to move the ball a bit quicker but that will come. She'll play at a higher level imo. I thought Naomi Powell was everywhere and worked her socks off and Katie Fraine continues to look a big upgrade in goals.

I was also impressed by the Hearts number 4 (Brownlie I think). She had a nervy first few minutes but looked more and more of a player as the game went on.

McAlonie is brilliant, all energy. Needs to stop trying to do so busy by herself but gives it everything.

Yeah Emma Brownlie, ex-Hibs and then Rangers via Everton, won a few cups with us. I was annoyed when Hearts signed her as I would have liked her back

Out of interest I had a look at JKB. Some wild takes e.g. they're going backwards under their coach, and Hibs still field a team of amateur players.

But couldn't notice that the fans on that forum seem to be less supportive of having a women's team/or more derogatory than here (it's very rare to see a derogatory take here)

That’s interesting. I was told yesterday that Hearts pay a decent wage so I assume their expectations have went massive due to that?

Both the coaches at Hearts are very good. They have brought in Gavin Beath as assistant, and he's an excellent coach who looks after international youth squads.

Hearts made a big thing about their investment. In reality it wasn't that much - £100k a year and it comes from the benefactor, anything else comes from sponsorship.

When have they not had high expectations often detached from reality?

The take about the coach is weird, one complained they've taken a step backwards in derbies under her. As far as I know they'd literally never won against Hibs until her tenure.

Sounds like a really bad one for Rebecca Galbraith of Spartans. Took a head knock on the pitch, after being treated for about 15 mins the ref has suspended play and the players have went in to the dressing room

Play has now resumed which I'm hoping means good news, relatively speaking.
