It wasn't. Uk is one of the most multicultural nations on earth unlike Germany then, UKs gdp is expected to grow 2% every one of the next 5 years, inflation is expected to be low the next 4 years, unemployment is tiny, immigration is at record levels, anti immigration sentiment has dropped in each of the last 10 years in the biggest poll and we are about to vote out the tories probably by a decent amountThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Germany and especially Berlin was a magnet for foreigners between the wars. There was an air of decadence after the fall of the Kaiser and thinkers and artists flooded the country and not only despite the finacial woes but probably because of them the population decided to party rather than save. Germany was the place to party in the early 1920's. Germany would actually have thrived if it wasn't for the war reparations they were having to pay back. After a short while of optimism the inevitable slump came and the thinkers, artists and Jews were the easy victims to blame for the disastrous finacial circumstances of the war that Germany had only itself to blame.
Let's see who the UK natives blames for the disaster that Brexit will bring in the coming years, my money is on foreigners, socialists and liberals. If you know your history then that's a pretty safe bet.

The reason many drifted right as they aged is that they wanted to preserve their own little dynasty for the next generation of their family. That just won't exist to anything like the same extent when today's 20, 30 and 40 year olds reach retirement age.
Of course that's not to dismiss the danger of people being attracted to scapegoating and the lure of simple answers to complex problems. We have a whole industry paying big money to people to pump out right wing populism.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Germanys unemployment rate pre nazis hit 30%, uks is 4% and stable
Germanys economy shrunk a third of the size before the Nazis. UKs even with brexit is expected to grow by 2% each year
Anti immigrant thoughts are shrinking year on year in the uk, the youth aren't turning right and the voters are going to vote out the most right wing choice. I'm an optimist change will come from the youth not turning right

They have ensured people don't have anything to conserve as you say or pass down, they are also spewing racism to a much more multicultural group. They are just playing to older groups which works just now as they are the ones who vote, let's see if the the young stay left as they age further

Someone needs to do analysis of the over 60s and how they vote in relation to the number of children and grandchildren they have. 🤔😉

Your faith in Britain's post Brexit economy is optimistic. The economy has already shrunk 5%. Germany's hyperinflation lasted 3 years and started to recover around 1924/25.
The timelines don't have to be identical, but once fascism has has become socially acceptable (it has in the UK), then it is impossible to be put back in its box until it's too late.
I hope you're right, but I fear you're wrong.

The economy is now 1.8% larger than before the pandemic its not 5% smaller? Gdp grew 4% in 2022 and IMF expect it to grow although slowly every year for the next 5
https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/uk-economy-grows-02-q2-2023-2023-09-29/#:~:text=Britain's%20economy%20in%20the%20three,ON S%20estimate%2C%20made%20on%20Aug.
"Britain's economic performance since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic has been much stronger than previously thought, with faster growth than Germany or France, according to revisions to official data released on Friday.
Britain's economy in the three months to the end of June 2023 was 1.8% larger than in the final quarter of 2019, the last full quarter before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Office for National Statistics said"
My optimism is based on uk public on average be less anti immigrant in every poll as the years go on, uk becoming more multicultural and were about to hammer the bigots at the ballot box. My only pessimism is independence is as far away as I can remember but demographics will win that too eventually. The kids are alright

The UK economy, like the German economy in the late 29's and early 30's relies on foreign investment because we are dependent on our service industry rather than anything we produce. If other countries start tightening the purse strings then we will feel it most, the whole economy is a house of cards and due to Brexit that house is slowly crumbling.

"Britain no longer an economic outlier after ‘extraordinary’ GDP upgrade by ONS
The changes, which added almost 2 per cent to the size of Britain’s economy, mean the UK no longer has the worst growth record among G7 countries since 2019.
They also show Britain’s economy is likely outperforming Germany, Europe’s biggest economy"
KPMG make estimates and they have estimated 1% growth per year in the future so im not sure what it is your saying. Although their 2023 estimate is going to be off

We're also about to vote out our most right wing choice.
I'd say Germany now is more like Germany then than us, although it's obviously still nothing like it also. In recession and going to vote out a left wing government

OFCOM decision on GBNews Laurence Fox / Dan Wootton broadcast where Fox commented about journalist Ava Evans.
GB News show broke broadcasting rules which protect viewers from offensive content.
Here's some of what he said:
"We're past the watershed so I can say this… show me a single, self-respecting man that would like to climb into bed with that woman… ever… ever""Who'd want to **** that?"

From a private Telegram account, using the pseudonym “Neo Glaive”, GB News’ Leo Kearse has been sharing deeply racist and misogynist comments.
On Friday he celebrated a terror attack in Russia. He has previously called Russians “pathetic slugs” and “orc peasants”.Kearse is also harsh on his native Scotland, telling members of Michael Brook’s’ Telegram channel that “you would not believe what a **** hole Scotland is” and another chat that Scotland is “full of fat feminine socialist gimps”
