Just back, really enjoyed it. It was a semi competitive kick about and the players looked like they enjoyed it. I wished another 2 or 3 thousand were there to enjoy it. There was a nice reception for SDG at the end with a sunshine on leith. All good for £10 imo.

Agree, it was quite competitive and a good watch. Ive seen far worse pre season games.

    Just back

Only just realised that Santa Claus was Brian McClair

Clear that big Daz and Marv don’t do the testimonials whilst the game is going on, which I found quite amusing.

Whittaker, Brown and Fyvie all showed a bit of quality.

No quite sure why Sir David was in the centre forward position to score but very fitting that he was. What a man.

I am stunned with the attitude of our fans to this game. Here is a man that single-handedly gave us the best day of our lives and so many are too stingy or lazy to get off their behinds and attend a day all about this great man, David Gray

There was a bigger buzz for the return of Frank Sauzee, a man who won nothing but a Championship medal and suffered the ignominy of being one of our shortest-serving managers. Since his departure from Hibs, Sauzee has shown the club nothing but contempt. Even his much-vaunted return was cut short, with no update provided from him since.

Gray will go down in history as a much more vital player to Hibs and someone who respected and loved this institution. He has always shown this to the fans, unlike other “legends”. Here’s to David Gray!
Any need in the digs at Sauzee? Weird statement

Lot of credit to Scott Brown today. He was the only Hibs player never to play with Gray. Turned up, enjoyed himself.

Where were the likes of Ambrose, Scott Allan etc?
Great run out for Broonie and fitting ovation when he went off. Interesting that SDG gave him the armband when he came back on for him so SDG could go off on 90 + 2

Efe not turning up no real surprise- he struggled to turn up some days when we employed him

Enjoyed that and even managed a selfie with Conrad after the game. Disappointed some of those listed as taking part didn’t, resulting in 3 subs each and rolling subs. I was particularly looking forward to seeing Efe and booing Mikey Stewart.

Where was Scott Allan? He was on the Hanlon/Stevenson line up as well but same as today, didn't make it?
Had a game on Friday, so maybe picked up an injury.

The big man was clearly happy to be back. By the time I was down the stairs the other players were all heading down the tunnel and Conrad still had a growing queue of people looking for a picture. No doubt he’d have stopped for every single one.

Really hope we see guys like him back at ER regularly now they’re all finished playing. Never something we’ve been brilliant at doing but these guys all love the place and Conrad was only there for a couple of months.

That was good fun, a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. I felt quite emotional when SDG came out of the tunnel at the start. Glad I went.

No. Fyvie had an offer with a deadline. He did not accept it. A few weeks later he came back to accept it but we had moved on to other targets by then.
And NL refused to put the original offer back on the table.

Not going to have a go at anyone who didn’t attend, I’m not a big fan of testimonials but for SDG I had to make the effort. Disappointing the crowd wasn’t bigger, more disappointing (as it was with his dinner) that a number of people who promised to make an appearance didn’t.

  18. #377
Was there a decent crowd ? . Report on match here .

Did anyone catch what Fletcher said to the boy in the west lower? The crowd was laughing but the guy didn’t seem too happy!

Really enjoyed today and amazing to see so many great players for us.

Scott Brown could and would still get a game for us in midfield, great to see him back in a Hibs shirt again.

    Good wee day out.

Thought the likes of Stubbsy might have been there but was good to hear from John Doolan at half time

He was playing golf today 😬

Michael Stewart in Norway tonight for the game v Spain. He's working for Viaplay.

Doolan drove up straight from a game for his dinner - arriving at 10pm. Stubbs didn't make either.

Good to see glimpses of the old Broonie Whittaker and Fyvie

Daz and the Bartman had not forgotten their old tricks and Keats had left his shooting boots at home

Conrad still looks like the Dad from The Incredibles but is now twice the size

The boys from Man Utd played well and I recognised a few from back in the day

Saw a few United fans but wondered if they were local ?

A good day out and a deserving cause

He should have, was good fun and a hole in one achieved by my daughter who is 4! Happy with my choice today, and glad others enjoyed David Grays day as well.

Saw Matty F at crazy golf, he was saying the escape rooms were fully booked. (of course only a small joke Matty 😀)

Looked a younger, fitter, calmer version of the Celtic Brown. Would definitely improve our midfield.

Just great to see some great Hibs players back on the field. Least said about the missing 10,000, the better.

Guy at the back shouted asking where someone was
couldn't make out the name and Fletcher shouted
Back, he heard you were coming so he didn't turn up.

…..and at the end if the day that’s all that really matters.
