Not sure what his complaints are. Was injured the whole time. Should be grateful LJ took a chance on him at all

Does that bloke ever have anything positive to say about anyone other than himself. He should be grateful LJ signed off a years wages for him, what did we get in return🙈

Struggling to see why he'd be pissed off at LJ for being perma injured.

He's playing for Ayr United for a reason. Don't think LJ was anything but respectful to him in the media. Terrific player when fit but he hardly ever was and sure he picked up a fantastic wage. We've moved on, he should too.

Another one who contributed little when he was here.
Red flags all over his fitness/injuries prior to joining Hibs.
Took more than he gave while he was here and yet another lamentable signing made over the last couple of years.

Had quick feet for an auld guy on his day probably the best player in the league just couldn’t stay fit long enough
Was it worth the investment probably no
LJ more than showed faith in him just didn’t work out sadly but loved watching him while it lasted

Made of glass whilst on a hefty wage and loved a trip to Lennoxtown - get it up him. Not a loss for us in the slightest.

About 8 months ago McGeady was a great signing, no one could have foreseen his injury and there was no way anyone could question the recruitment team and their decision to sign him.
Fast forward to now and he's a disrespectful wage thief and there were all kinds of red flags before we even signed him.

Typical media click bait as it’s hardly “blasting” LJ. From watching the clip it sounds more like a tongue in cheek comment than a dig.

OK Aiden, thanks for contributing **** all and keeping the treatment table warm. Please don't return to ER again, ta.

Face like a skelpt arse and an attitude to match.

I deeply disliked him before he joined us but I knew the Sunderland fans held him in high regard so was prepared to give him a chance.
When fit, I thought he looked like he was still an absolutely cracking football player and it’s a real shame he was injured as much as he was. The glimpses when injury free were great though.
Now he’s gone though and started this - it just appears once more that he’s a torn-faced ********. I don’t like ungratefulness, and to chuck this in the direction of a manager who has signed him and backed him a few times well into his thirties and who he’s been unable to repay due to injury reflects badly on McGeady.
I love the football player, can’t stick the man.

The headline doesn't really match the interview as per usual. Odd signing. Poor attitude. No hibs connection from him at all.

Should never have been anywhere near the club.

Does that count as throwing LJ under a bus?
(Cue the "I'd throw him under a bus" remarks.)

Watching the VT looks like he was looking / hoping for an extension to his existing contract
Eh No!

Deliberate timing with the Villa game tomorrow.

He always comes across as a top bloke.
Laugh-a-minute.
So engaging you could listen to him for hours.

Was pretty sure this signing wouldn't work out at the time and said so, given his age and probable injury proneness.
With the exception of a couple of short spells, the scepticism was well founded sadly

He's been injured twice since 2019, once he missed 11 games for Sunderland and then got a really dull one at Hibs and missed 32 games.
Sunderland was a knee injury, and his Hibs one was totally unrelated.
He's missed 86 games over 13 years, or just under 7 a season and that's when you include a full season out at Hibs. Prior to that was 52 games in 12 years, or 4 a season.

Aside from his injury problems, I’d hoped he would be a senior pro who could help create the right attitude within the squad. Not sure he did; not sure he even turned up at ER to support his employers.
What was the point?

He then joined us that summer.
It sounds like he's annoyed we didn't offer him another contract but surely he can't have any complaints after having missed so much football with us through injury?

It's a strange one though.
He played for LJ at Sunderland, came to the conclusion that he was a snake while he was there, (although only repeated in private), signs for him again at Hibs, and now bad mouths him in public.
If he disliked LJ that much, it says a lot about his principles that he signed for him again because,
presumably, we made the highest offer.
McGeady comes across as like a woman scorned, tbh.Last edited by Hibbyradge; 22-08-2023 at 09:24 AM.

Would genuinely rather listen to Craig Levein talk about his favourite carpet samples for eight hours than one minute of an Aiden McGeady interview.
No doubt he’ll be out for another four months after the exertion of that interview.

If you want some respect then start by showing Hibs some.
You can **** off and watch Celtic all you like now.
