Sure I read somewhere that you won't qualify for the first 6 months, could be wrong as it didn't apply to me so just skirted over it...

Why should Hibs First be given priority over season ticket holders? Many season ticket holders have had season tickets for decades 40+ years and more so why should they be overlooked at the expense of some newly introduced scheme?Hibs First membership clearly states that it's for the prioritising of domestic away League and cup fixtures only. European ties shouldn't come into it.
It’s not a new scheme - it is the AST tweaked. And all 350 members of the AST had to buy for every game and most go to every game. Dempster introduced it several years ago now when folk complained about loyalty points. Hibs analysed the loyalty points data and knew around 350 individuals went to most or all games. That dictated the cut off point for the original membership. Kensall has merely expanded that to 500 (and monetised it)- with existing 350 members given first shout. All 150 new members have to be STHs too. Understandably, folk will always seek a solution to address their own needs or situation.

Insure if only for cat A games but heres some info

    TICKETING CRITERIA

To purchase tickets for Category A matches (Hearts, Rangers and Celtic) you must meet certain criteria. Supporters need to have been registered on the clubs E-ticketing database for 12 months or more and have a previous purchase history.

If you do not meet the criteria above then regrettably you would not be able to purchase match tickets for these fixtures, you can however purchase a hospitality package.

Thanks for the info, but it is still a newer scheme than the straight forward season ticket membership.

Personally I don't think it's needed and should still only relate to domestic (away) fixtures and nothing else.

So, as long as you have a previous purchase history (which pretty much 100% of all non ST fans will have) and have been registered for a year (again, this will apply to pretty much all fans), there isnt a problem.

Don't see an issue with this.

Your season ticket clearly is for home games and over the years has been different in terms of other incentives it gave. You’ll remember seasons that it included cup games in the ticket for free, then some seasons for a top up fee. Some seasons it has warranted cup final priority but ultimately it has not been a consistent offering other than to guarantee that you can park yer carcas in the same place each week at a mildly discounted price. Even within cup runs we can see different benefits offered between rounds.

The AST was to give that same acknowledgment and benefit to home and away regulars who’d be pretty disappointed to miss out on a ticket for Birmingham to folk who only attended home games. Like I said, perspectives naturally will favour personal circumstances- human nature.

Is the issue not that if you have bought a season ticket for this season and its your first one ever, your not allowed to buy a ticket for Cat A games. Including Villa at home?

There is a reason that you cant buy tickets for big games unless you have a history - its to stop huns etc registering and buying.

This is pretty much a non issue for this game, because even if someone has only just bought a ST, chances are they have been buying individual match tickets for a while, and hence are probably registered for more than the minimum period.

There might be a handful of people who have just decided to follow Hibs, and who just decided to get a ST............but its not really a big problem.

I agree. Surely the fact that you have a ST proves that you're not a sticky bun.

I doubt any of them are so desperate to see them in the flesh rather than watch on TV that they'd shell out the best part of £400, particularly when we're only guaranteed to play them once (Huns, that is.)

You’d think not. I presume you can buy hospitality without have a reference number so surely it’s the same thing.

1st season ticket this season and been told I can't buy a ticket for this game as its a category A game. How long must I wait until I am eligible?
Its wrong & will get sorted if you contact ticket office, I had similar problem with two of those in my group. Of course as a season ticket holder you are MORE than entitled to purchase. Again it seems like something with good intentions that hasn't been well thought out.

My sister bought an ST for the first time this year. When she logs into the system, it doesn't show a red dot in her account allow to her to buy a ticket for her ST seat for the A home game. It does however allow her to by a ticket for elsewhere in the stadium.

That doesn't seem right to me. Surely even a new ST holder should be able to buy a ticket for their own seat?

We had that problem when I got the kids first half season tickets.

I could buy them tickets for the away game at Tynecastle (0-0 when Shaw should have had a goal) but couldn't buy home cup tickets for a cat A game.

Seems like a really screwed up way of working.

3000 has been mentioned but 500 will go to the Hibs first members and probably 200 to player’s family’s. So 2300 up for grabs for the rest of us.

Hibs First is a continuation of the former Away Season Ticket scheme where all members had to buy a ticket for most games whether we could attend them or not. It was introduced after the disastrous failed loyalty points scheme to reward loyalty. Bear this in mind, last season this was nowhere near fully subscribed and it was only capped at 350 but this season the Hibs First scheme was capped at 500, Every single STH got the option to join up and if you chose not to then thats only on you I'm afraid.

By the way, the official press release from Hibs regarding Hibs first also states priority access to any potential Euro ties is also included so you you're wrong.

A Hibs First Membership includes priority access to away tickets for Hearts, Celtic and Rangers fixtures as well as all other cinch Premiership, League Cup and Scottish Cup matches.

Priority ticket access to any potential European ties is also included.

Some can't grasp it. We go everywhere to watch games, but now because we had audacity to watch abroad, we should forego our villa tickets. 🤪

If only we had loyalty points, but some would moan that because you attend every game, you will have more points.

You can never make everyone happy, unfortunately, when you have 12,000 season ticket holders

You don't have to have been registered for 6 months if you've bought a ST for this season.

The 6 month thing is referring to people wanting to buy tickets in the general sale.

If you buy a ST today, you're guaranteed a ticket instead of taking the chance in the general sale tomorrow!

LPs are and always were the correct answer.

In the absence of them I have no issue with Hibs First getting theirs, then me and all other STs taking our chances in the online lottery.

I may get one, I may not - but I won't grudge those who paid for priority actually getting it !
