I can't help thinking there's a bit of favouritism as McAllister makes tonight's squad before Jacob or Malik.

I’d have him in ahead of Malik no question. Malik also played a full 90 minutes less than 24 hours ago.

Jacob I rate highly but in terms of performances for the first team in preseason, McAllister has shone more so far. Jacob has maybe suffered from his versatility being used in a few different positions.

I actually think that it could make it harder for the young lad to breakthrough due to his Dad being the Assistant Manager.

A lot of pressure on a young laddie to impress when you know there is fans all too willing to accuse you of getting special treatment.

At least there's only one McAllister.

    I remember the Miller boys.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

When he first signed I had this thought but those who keep track of the development team seem very impressed by him so it’s possible we have attracted a great young playing in part due his dad being at the club rather than the other way around.

Congratulations to young Reuben on his professional debut. Hopefully a few more of his teammates will follow suit as the season progresses.

Watching mcallister last year for the under 18s, i probably thought he had no chance of making it.
I’m glad he’s proving me wrong.

I thought he had a good game in the time he was on, showed good awareness in taking a quick freekick and looked to get involved.

He played very well when he came on which is great, I think he's really improved this last 6 months. When you think that the older crop of guys who won the league and performed well in Europe haven't had a sniff in the first team I think McAllister is being fast tracked, that's what I was getting at.

Maybe he should be. Looks like a talent however very slight physically.

I think Ethan would have got ragdolled against big adult centre half's last year. I think he needs to play against adults this year. Brentford should loan him but he'll probably be in youths again. He'll soon be 19 I think at that stage you need to get used to the physical aspects of adult football.

For the same reason Megwa might get less game time than Rudi and Rueben. Defence is physical but you can get away with being thin in mid more. Megwa at least has some experience on loan and have thought he'd go out again this season for longer.

I have been impressed so far with Zaid's pre-season so glad to hear he had a good game apart from maybe being to greedy at times.

he’s a cracking player, I felt in the dortmund game that the turning point was him going off, he was pressing them well from attacking midfield, and when he went off their midfield were able to carry the ball much further forward, pushing us back

Not everyone is going to make it as a future first team Hibs player but I think we have a good few exciting players who could make it.

If it’s based on preseason then it’s probably fair. He was excellent in Blackpool along with Molotnikov. Rudi was a better shout for the squad than Jacob or Malik based on preseason. McAllister likewise.

Rudi might have been in with a shout toobut looked like he picked up a sore one towards the end of the 1st half v Fortmartine.

I keep bringing it up, but Josh Landers is built like a man already. Hopefully we fast track his development and get him some experience against pros somehow.

From the small samples that I've seen him he's impressed with his size and ability. Reminds me of Garry O'Conner
