Rangers fans ***** would collectively collapse if Rodgers got the Celtic job. He handed them some brutal beatings. For that reason I'm all for it.
A favourite moment of that time was when the SPFL computer tried to fix the post-split fixtures so there couldn't be an Old Firm title decider.

Celtic could win the league in the first post-split game so the computer sent them to visit us at Easter Road.

Hibs 2 Celtic 1 (Slivka, Kamberi scorers)

So Celtic won the league the following week, Celtic 5 Rangers 0

Standout candidate though there's going to be quite a few P**** off Celtic fans about it if he does get it .
It's amazing what a derby win or cup win can do football fans have the shortest memories in the world.

It certainly is amazing how a good result or a defeat can change things so quickly when it comes to a manager. Remember LJ getting praise on here until the following week when it turned to sack the b****r. 😳

It's almost irrelevant who gets the Celtic job - they'll continue to win practically everything.

What is it, 5 trebles in 7 seasons???

Only decent thing is that they stop Rangers winning anything. If Celtic go to win 10 in a row then so be it. I'd rather that than Rangers winning anytime soon.

    Screw them both.

How many league titles have Celtic won? Hopefully they keep racking them up to stop the Huns going on about 55 all the time. Can't be much in it.

They can go on about 55 as much as they want though as it's all fantasy stuff anyhow. Old rangers are dead and new rangers have basically won FA

Lots of reports Rodgers will be announced as Celtic manager tomorrow. He's a good manager, but he will need to win over a substantial proportion of the fans once again. Many still hold a grudge about the way he left last time. If another English offer comes in, will he be straight out of the door again? It will be interesting to see how it unfolds.

He will win his first 10 matches an average of 3-0 and they wont care one bit.

I'd go along with that though a defeat to the Huns in there first old firm could change the mood considerably.

Celtic fans are funny. The man basically won them a quadruple treble. Their nose was out of joint because he dared to leave them for the EPL for what they thought was a much smaller club. Usual Celtic arrogance. They are keeping up their pretend outrage to save face when on the inside they'll be touching themselves over Rodgers coming back. So they should be. It would be a phenomenal appointment as it was the last time.

Celtic and Rangers fans delusion about the size of their club is one of the funniest things in football. There's fans on here and at other clubs as well that would argue in their favour. Both are giant for Scottish football standards, but down south, the top 6 are all bigger, as are the likes of Newcastle, Everton, Villa etc.

If they went down south, they'd be around that level, maybe just under.

Their entitlement is even funnier, they genuinely think they're a top 5 club in world football and think everyone else should agree. The way they act when folk leave, for bigger better clubs/opportunities is like watching 10 year olds throw a strop.

A big section of celtics support hate Tierney as they think celtic are the bigger club and he made a step down. That's something multiple boys I know have said to me, genuinely burst out laughing the first time I heard it.

They're institutionalised and can't see beyond their weird sectarian bubble. The sun orbits Glasgow to those freaks.

Do you like Celtic that much that you care if they or Rangers have won more leagues? Why does it matter who has won more out the two of them?

I know that didn’t work out but I was reading about his career in the game, he has one helluva cv, admittedly not as a manager, but it’s impressive nevertheless

If I liked Celtic that much id know how many leagues they won and the reason for asking was in my post?

Rodgers must be close to becoming the new manager with some papers saying he's agreed terms . Going to be some not so happy Celtic fans over here 😂

It may be different on the east coast, but in 23 years of living in Missouri and now Texas, I've seen two Celtic tops and not a single Sevco top. In world terms, both are irrelevant.

In fairness… that’s the yanks. Football is irrelevant there.

Without “arguing in their favour” as you put it, I am quite interested to hear your reasoning to put them below the likes of Newcastle, Everton, Villa etc? English top 6 teams are genuinely regarded as modern day global institutions so fair enough and you’re right that despite what some old firm fans may want you to believe, I don’t think either two are quite that level. With that said I don’t think there’s really any credibility ranking them lesser than the likes of Newcastle- however we’re meant to measure these things.
