Pleased for him. Maybe it was always the players after all.

    They are a total shambles
I have no idea why they would appoint Lampard, he's basically a pretty **** manager and this job is way over his head. Again. It's a strange one all the same, Lamport is a really bright guy, high IQ and all that, but he's not a very good manager, at this level anyway.

It's all relative with Arsenal. They have paid a price for the previous two results but they still came to the Etihad at the end of April with the chance to go eight points clear at the top.

I have to pause to let that sink in, because that's borderline ridiculous progress for a club that hadn't even qualified for the CL for six seasons.

There are a few positions to bolster or upgrade in the summer, and keeping the likes of Saka and Saliba is essential, but the money will be there (and the expectations likewise).

City are very very good and very, very strong. But Arsenal on form still play the prettier football
I think the Liverpool team of previous seasons were far better. City will probably still end up winning this title by double digits.

Saka apart, there's not another Arsenal player who would get in this City side.

Saka was nowhere to be seen tonight. Foden & Mahrez both better.

I’m not sure there’s many players in the league that would get in the City team. Salah, Van Dijk (probably not this season), Saka. Genuinely not sure who else would be an upgrade on the starting 11.

    Rashford

I like how Grealish seems to have found his niche now decision making and confidence loads better and more of a team player than a one man band -putting in a shift now

Yeah you have a point there . He probably wouldn't get in that team yet though do think he's a class player and is only 24 . Gundogan is coming 33 now too .

I’ve not paid much attention to EPL football in recent years but if nothing else, Arsenal made it very interesting for a few months there. Just a step too far for them but the fact that they will fall short will be down to Zinchenko’s defending against Southampton and (?) West Ham more than it was about being overrun on the night by a strong Man City side.

Its been down to losing Saliba and the shape and line having to change.

Great coach. Delighted to see him up in the big league. Will probably be sacked by Christmas though.

He's alright, decent enough for Arsenal but i suppose he might look better in this City side, although at this moment in time, he'd be warming the bench for them if he actually made the bench.

Saka was poor last night, but i could see him sneeking in their side on the right, he'd definetly make their bench.

I was expecting a little bit more from arsenal last night TBH, full credit to City though who have peaked at the right time. Absolutely relentless in every position.

All 👀 on the relegation race now with a couple key games tonight and over the weekend.

Managed to avoid last night's Coppa Italia 2nd leg, watched it this afternoon, Inter beat Juventus 1-0 to go through to the final 2-1 on aggregate. Juventus were awful.

Huge game for Everton tonight. They are running out of fixtures and really need to get something at home.

Spurs v Man United might be intriguing too.
