I don't know how everyone else feels about VAR but I hate it . The worst part of it is when your team scores it's killed that one moment of elation you feel , now you don't know if it's a goal till it's checked even watching a game as a neutral it's not the same .its a absolute kill joy . I know it corrected the referee's mistake in giving the penalty but we had 8 minutes added on in the first half and another 7 at the end , 15 minutes added on in total . Crazy .

I like VAR. I hate the people using it

The best thing about it should be that all the big, game changing decisions are right. The actual best thing about it is the way it is highlighting the bias and corrupton in Scottish football. What needs to happen next is that something happens about the bias and corruption.

Agree with both posts above really. I don’t like the way VAR has impacted the flow of the game and killed the joy of a goal as I fear it’s going to be chalked off for something minuscule.

However, VAR SHOULD mean the big calls are correct but as we know with our referees it appears they take a different view on decisions when 2 certain clubs are involved.

Overall so far I don’t like it but say we were to get referees from outside Scotland to manage it and see where we get to that might see a decent improvement.

I am a supporter of VAR, and have always been an advocate for cameras at football matches. I understand that there are teething issues with the current set up, however VAR is in its infancy and needs improving on, not abandoning. My longterm hope would be to see cameras used to referee an entire match, and do away with the requirement of referees entirely, so that we can enjoy a completely fair and unbiased game of football.

I'm in favour of VAR but would prefer if we use it more like Tennis, managers get three challenges a game, maximum of two per half and if their challenge is approved then they get to keep it.

I also think we need to mic the refs up and be far more transparent to fans inside stadiums.

I understand why people would support VAR when you see Griffith's goal and the Maradona handball though there's still blatant handballs being allowed with VAR in the game now . There's certainly teething issues with the current setup with VAR big ones imo , while in its infancy we have had it in our game coming up to 22 weeks and there's been little or no sign improvement with it , in fact most weeks instead of talking about the actual football we are talking about decision or the lack of them because of VAR .

Your long-term hope of cameras being used to refereeing entire matches and doing away with referee's entirely is a very interesting thought though the skeptical side of me thinks if the SFA done that they would just put Beaton, Walsh, McLean and the rest of the Muppets in charge of watching the cameras and we are back to incompetent or biased decision again . For me the biggest thing is it kills that moment of joy , celebration when your team scores a goal , decision's getting checked are taking 3, 4, 5 or 6 minutes to decide while fans are in the stands wondering what's going on. Personally I hate VAR and am sorry to see it come into Scottish football , I don't know if many feel the same way but if there was a vote today to keep it or do get rid of it , I'd be voting to get rid .

So allow the VAR official one look from each angle and if they can't see the reason immediately then the call on the field stands.

The check would be over in less time than it takes to celebrate a goal/blame a defender.

That's how we all want it to be. It seems to be an issue the fact that the images are out there for use by the officials. So they take time to scrutinise everything - they must be thinking imagine the uproar if we have the pictures and get it wrong - so instead pour over it. They want everything has to be clear cut right and wrong - even if it kills the spirit of the game and experience in the stands. With so much money in the game and betting industry everywhere sadly I don't see it going back to a time where the technology is stripped back. I don't think people with influence would accept it. It's only going to get more involved.

Hate the way it's going with soft non-fouls and defenders being penalised constantly for stupid incidents where they haven't gained any kind of advantage whatsoever. Concerning for anyone like me that can't be arsed debating decisions and just wants to enjoy the football being played.

I'd go further.

If there is contact but the fouled player exaggerates it (Colak earlier this season) then I'd cancel the penalty and award the defending team a free kick. I'd do that anywhere on the pitch to cut down on the cheating. Within reason, football is a contact sport.

I'd go further and say applying the rules properly isn't their main concern. Thinking how it effects a certain team or the health of their glazing is at the forefront.

Properly hate it. The last game against der Hun had very little to enjoy, and couldn't really celebrate our goal, as it went in through a ruck of players and so had to wait for VA******R to say when we could cheer. And it's done nothing to improve the decision making (cf the Rangers 429 pen awards already this season, and the race to have Celtc catch up since that position became untenable).

Get rid now.
