Thrilling match in Paris. Who would opt for the Old Firm game over this?

Yet the Georgian referee initially just said yellow.

Some of his calls have been utterly awful today - we're making mistakes, but the referee is very much in the French pocket.
And there's the call on 79 mins to hand them it. Such a crap call too, Richie had no chance to release.

Keep Georgia the **** away from the Six Nations if this guy represents their understanding of rugby.

A cheat to the death. Some of his calls today have been absolutely shocking.

Yep, agree about the ref, it was like watching a Scottish football ref giving the OF everything.

2024 six nations fixtures for Scotland

    Sat 3rd Feb Wales v Scotland 4:45pm
    Sat 10th Feb Scotland v France 2:15pm
    Sat 24th Feb Scotland v England 4:45pm
    Sat 9th Mar Italy v Scotland 2:15pm
    Sat 16th Mar Ireland v Scotland 4:45pm

surely they could have at least split up the only two home games being one after the other

It's a pretty good run of fixtures. I'll be at Wales away with 40 odd other members if Alloa rugby club on what can only be described as a total 4 day bender. A few weeks recovery and off to Italy with the wife and some pals for a cultural experience( beer and wine will obviously be taken here too) I've already been invited to hospitality for the Calcutta Cup match as well. Shaping up to be a great six nations regardless of results!!

Why were one of the weeks of his ban not the Edinburgh v Leinster game on Saturday? That's exactly what Farrell got after his most recent red, and the RFU counted the Edinburgh v Saracens game as part of that (even though he would never have been playing in it anyway), and he was ergo available for the 6 Nations game v Scotland.

I'm hoping to get over to Dublin for a wee weekend - coinciding with St Patrick's Day could make it a cracking weekend

Whilst I agree with what you're saying, he was sent off for Scotland so should be banned for Scotland.

The issue isn't that Gilchrist misses 3 Scotland games, it's that Farell got to use a club game to shorten his England ban.

We're on the same page - my issue here is the disparity in how the rules are applied across different unions/players. Farrell seems to get special treatment, yet Gilchrist gets the hammer thrown at him.

I don't mind not seeing him in the remainder of the competition (it was utterly stupid from him and we have some ready replacements), but these rules should be universal in how bans are served.

I agree as well, RFU were taking the piss, and should be pulled up for it

I agree. It was a joke and it should have been dealt with, the RFU I mean.

I think 3 games is fair, not ideal but at the level for similar offences.

I hope the ref gets roasted, to question Haouas as "not dangerous" when he ends up with a 4 match ban is ludicrous and summed up his abysmal performance.

Was at the Under 20 game last night. Massive physical difference between the two teams to the point that I was more worried about the safety of the Scottish players than anything.

Scottish 9 went off before half time with a very serious looking injury after trying to tackle an Irish lad nearly twice his size - hope it is not as bad as it looked.

Even though the senior team is going well the SRU really need to work on the standard of the underage side, the 82 point score and 75 point winning margin last night were both 6 nations Under 20/senior all time records.

    SOme pumping.....

Re tomorrow everyone over here thinks its going to be the game of the tournament..For once the arent saying the win is a certainty. Like the French all depends on what Scotland shows up....Ireland are class at the moment though, cant see them making many mistakes. Saying that looking at the Scottish line up we look pretty good too.
