    Some good prices today.

    Watford
    Killie
    Morton
    Norwich
    Hearts
    Newcastle
    Bristol rovers
    Preston

    All look overpriced to me.
Hearts likely are overpriced. Hoping Livi can take something today though.

I had a wee bet on St Mirren at 8/1. The habitual late Rangers penalty put pay to that

Every game in the Scottish lower leagues had over 1.5 goals today. Just the Queens park v Inverness game to go which has just kicked off at 5:30. £5 on that returns £141.

Had a look at that one but surely there will be a nil nil game, but hope it comes up for you.

PP got a decent offer on

Bet £10 on the golden Boot winner and receive a free £1 bet for EVERY shot on target AND goal scored by said player

Torn between Kane (could easily get 4 in the group stages alone) or Messi

Yeah, you would think there will be a 0-0 somewhere, but at 28/1 I'm having a wee go. To be honest, I'm not really bothered about the World Cup, so my bets will maintain my interest.

    Good heads up.

Betfair doing a similar offer, £10 on TGS and a £2 bet every time they score or assist.

They're also doing a free £2 bet builder on every game.ij the first week of the tournament.

Done this too, surely Ecuador 11/8 to beat Qatar first game is a great bet?

Kinda covers Hibernian&Alba’s post too, but there has been a total of 1 goal in Ecuador’s last 5 games. Will probably avoid this game

I picked 20 games from the group stages - games that should be pretty solid picks - e.g., England vs Iran, Argentina vs Saudi Arabia etc.

£10 (as an alternative to joining a workplace sweepie) with odds at 2309/1...I figure even if a couple of the early ones come in, the cash-out option could be very nice indeed
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Took Dundee myself and seen that some thought the game would be called off but appears to be going ahead now

I have a 14 team accumulator like yours on the group stage too, also putting money on the first game and will roll it over to the next game if I keep winning until it's at a value I don't want to lose, about the only thing that's exciting me for the World Cup

There's a long story in the Guardian today about betting. I'll not link to it, but it has made me stop and think.

Looking like a good start to the £2 free bet offer - Ecuador win, Valencia 2 or more attempts on target, over 4.5 bookings - 15/1.

    Thanks.

I identified with a lot of that. Not the scale of losses, but the behavioural side.

It doesn't refer to what I always think is the one horrible influence of modern day gambling, which is that you are forever exposed to other people's winnings.

And the 24/7 gambling adds that you see, everywhere. Add in the influencers and YouTubers now getting gambling deals to try take advantage of younger more susceptible viewers, I love a wee bet here and there, but it's blatant that the companies actively try to get try to get/keep you addicted to it.
