cheers sounds good... thought we might be under more pressure but has not sounded like that (caveat that Steven Thompson is co-commentating on beeb radio) sounds like if we frustrate them and ref is decent they wont keep 11 on pitch?

That's twice now an offside has started almost on the half-way line... it isn't given until the ball's dead in the penalty area... and the kick's taken from there... What's going on?

Its insane. Its going to persist until someone gets hurt in the resulting play despite the attacking being 10 yards offside.

What is the point in linesmen (other sexes are available) / asst refs if they cant even stick a flag up for offside nowadays? might as well wait until VAR decides

Was my first thought as well. It will take a cruciale injury to a £30 million player while the play is dead, for them to change that rule.

From the commentary, it seems offside was awarded, but a goal kick was given. Is there some rule change I've missed?... at no point, in ANY of the off-sides, does the far side AR put his flag up.

Officials are having a shocker so far - if not a penalty, it 100% had to be a corner. Ukraine's tackling has been brutal - amazing they're not down to 10 men.

And aye, the offside thing is doing my box in - just put the flag up if it's obvious! The chance where Gordon made a great save was an exception - that was clearly tight (and it actually looked like Hickey was playing him on), so I don't mind a late flag there.

Kenny McLean is a dreadful excuse for a footballer, and Greg Taylor behind him isn't much better.
