Yep....I read LOTR at school and then again years later but The Silmarillion I just couldn't take to at all.
What I’ve realised is, as mentioned above, TROP is the story of the 2nd age, LOTR is the story of some of the 3rd age and the Silmarillion is the foundation story of the 1st age.

Anyway, it was a great start. obviously the visuals are jaw dropping and beautiful but the acting was also very strong from the two main protagonists and Lenny Henry as a pre-hobbit wasn’t the maddest bit of casting you’d expect to have been

Looking forward to the rest of it.

I love the LOTR films so trying to keep my expectations low, it's a solid start TBF. I think we could do with a bit more hand holding to help us understand the state of the world and the relationships between all the different factions. LOTR did the exeptionally well. But I get this is a TV show and not a film so this could be done over a longer period of time.

I liked the use of the Map to show where things are taking place.

Inside Central Station back on tonight, this time it's on the main BBC1 Scotland network rather than been tucked away on the digital platform

I’ve watched the first three episodes. Thought the first one was promising but it has been quite slow so far, decent enough though.

Can’t remember who mentioned it previously but finished the first series of FROM and quite enjoyed it. Was weary when I read that it was the same guys as lost and feared they would drag it out and not get the questions to answer ratio right. They might still do that, but thought it was good.

I think that might've been me, I might've even compared it to Lost without realising that the same folk were responsible for both.

Toast of London and Toast of Tinseltown were recommended to me, watched them in a couple of nights - superb.

Watching Undercover on Netflix, Dutch (I think) about 2 cops going undercover trying to infiltrate a drugs gang.

Just finished first series and totally hooked. I see there are a few more series and a prequel thing based on the head of the gang.

It's pretty funny in bits and it's mainly set on a caravan site.

    Highly recommended

The Clem Fandango scenes in Toast of London had me in absolute stitches.

The whole programme is good, but they’re just brilliant.

Stunning, particularly the intelligence of the killer whales!!
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Matt Berry is a low key comic genius. The cast are stand outs and he writes this show with Arthur Mathews who's CV includes Father Ted, Harry Enfield and Chums and The Fast Show so it isn't a surprise it is so good. The problem with UK comedies is they only do 6 a season! i think there are more Friends episodes in one season that total episodes of Toast of London/Tinseltown over 4 seasons/series.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

Jim is probably the funniest character on the programme.

Loving Gone Fishing with Whitehouse and Mortimer. Nice relaxing telly and I find my self giggling away at some of the chat.

My other half thinks I'm off my head. Maybe it's for older guys like myself
