WTAF just happened in Shetland?????!!!! Got to wait a whole week for the next episode!!!
I’m plodding through series 6 with the missus but I think I’ve stumbled on a few spoilers now from last nights episode, unfortunately. It’s OK viewing, one of my friends from school (good Hibby to boot) is in it so I watch it for that partly, but it bothers me that the amount of murder deaths over the 7 seasons must put Shetland above Mexico City for murders per head of population

You don't want to go to Midsomer either 😉
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Cabot Cove has the highest murder rate per capita in the world even eclipsing Tijuana which has the highest murder per capita rate in the real world.

Watched the first couple of episodes of Red Rose on iplayer, quite enjoyable so far.
Finished this now, worth a watch. Finished the 2nd series of The Secrets She Keeps which is also worth a look.

Marriage on BBC iPlayer. Weird. Just, weird. Sean Bean plays a very weird character. He just hangs about.
Watched one episode then sacked it, couldn't face another 3 hours worth!

I was reluctantly persuaded to give House of the Dragon the new Game of Thrones prequel a try and it’s actually very good. I never really got into it before.

It’s now full on fantasy prequel time in our house, the Lord of the Rings prequel starts on Thursday, most expensive TV ever made, really looking forward to seeing what they do with The Silmarillion.

Only Connect back for another series. Best quiz on TV by a distance.
PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Seems like it's been made a lot simpler, or maybe I'm getting brainier. I know it's easier in the early rounds but I can't remembering getting so many questions right.

    Definitely simpler. Facile some say.

I did think both walls were fairly simply the other night, even the couple of red herrings were pretty obvious.

I think it's easier every year though in the 1st round matches then it gets to the semi finals and finals and I realise I'm still a bit of a simpleton who struggles with lateral thinking.

    I enjoyed it.

I followed College football quite closely around that time and he was definately one of the well known names of that era, I thought everyone sort of came across quite well. I think it's difficult to remember that Manti Te'o was a teenager and was probably quite naive despite his growing fame. The person who catfished him went about it very clever by speaking to people close to him etc. But yeah definately mental as you say.

By the way despite them making out he would have close to becomming champions if his mindset was right. They got well and truely thumped by an Alabama side that has been rampant for years https://www.espn.com/college-footbal...meId/330070333

Gripping! both my wife and I jumped at the bit with the office security desk, even though it was pretty obvious. Well done for thrill effect.

I really enjoyed GoT even what’s considered a bad ending I didn’t mind, no connect to the books so I thought it was fine, enjoying house of dragons so far as well I think it’s really building up quite well looking forward to rest of the series.

Would you need any knowledge of Lord of the rings for the tv show? I haven’t watched any of the films but the show looks great from clips I’ve seen

I know, the door was closed when it went up so I can only assume she was blown clear by the blast (with hardly a scratch).

Must've covered the bomb with her hands to absorb the explosion! 😉

The plot doesn’t relate to the Silmarillion - apparently Amazon don’t have the rights to that.

Plot revolves around all the “rings of power” in the second age apparently, if that helps anyone!

I don’t think you’ll need any knowledge, they’re spending half a billion on one tv season so they’ll want it to be accessible to as many viewers as possible.

I enjoyed HOTD aswell albeit it felt a little like characters were making decisions to suit the plot rather than any sensible motivation. The King basically in episode 2….

You won't as it is set 000s of years before the LOTR movies. I would however recommend watching them as all 3 are fantastic movies.

The rings of power are (to the best of my knowledge) the rings that Sauron gave out. These are the rings that the "one ring" is used to bind together.

Yep....I read LOTR at school and then again years later but The Silmarillion I just couldn't take to at all.
