I wasn't aware Tait was injured but Delferriere definitely hurt his groin and could barely walk.
Pitch was very hard so no real surprise if there are a few aches and pains after that.
Hard shift for the young team but they stuck at it and didn't get beaten over 90 minutes which is a big positive.
Was impressed by how calmly Laidlaw took the goal showing great feet.
Also like the look of Jacob McIntyre who is a good size for only being 16.
Mcclelland is the pick of the young centre halfs and I reckon he is going to be a bit special in time.
Hanlon probably not quite ready yet but definitely getting close.

For this time of year, the pitch was hard and rutted, good facilities, but awful pitch.

It’s the same pricing structure for all the games, so it’s an SPFL decision
Travelling is also very costly for teams just now. Brechin will probably make a big loss on this game
Didn’t realise it was a cup tie and it was the big Brechin team they were playing. My bad .

Fantastic that Martin boyle was amongst the small crowd for this game, talking to everyone, and Joe Newell, well done to both for supporting the development Team.

Also Porto, Rocky, Ben Kensell and the manager. Big Garry O there too watching his laddie.

Actually surprised we didn’t win that when I seen the team we put out. Would have expected us to have too much for them.

The pitch really was brutal. It had the aftermath of diagonal trenches that must have been dug up over the summer every 5-10m. You simply couldn’t hit a straight pass over any distance. It meant they tried to float most passes in the air to an extent and it was so hard it was bouncing up to waist and chest height.

Ian Gordon was standing at the fence directly in front of Ben and Joe.

He was very casually dressed, not in club gear like the rest.

Hopefully they don’t use this pitch for the under 18 champions league games .

I spoke to Lee J just before the match and he wasn’t happy with the pitch.

Lost 2-1, no complaints. Very young Hibs team in the 18s league this season by the look of it.

Thanks for the updates. Yes, I imagine it will be.

Some very good 16 year olds.

    Did McAllister play?

He did, he struggled. Hopefully he settles in to the group soon.

18s lost 2-1 to Dundee United tonight going by United’s academy twitter page.

Young Hibees Josh Landers and Rory Whittaker have been called up to Scotland’s Under-16s!

The pair were named for Stuart Glennie’s squad for their upcoming friendlies against Denmark next month.

Josh and Rory will travel to Spain for a week-long camp which includes two friendlies against the Danes, on Wednesday 7 September and Saturday 10 September.

Both matches, which take place at the Pinatar Arena, will serve as preparation for the Victory Shield, which starts in October.

Josh – a striker - has been a regular for the U18s this season, and set up Reuben McAllister in their last outing, whilst Josh is a right-back.

Just noticed that myself regarding the mistake and yes he is I think only turned 15 not long ago!

We have a really young u18's this year so wouldn't be expecting miracles as some results have already gone.

I’d heard that too. You can’t have title winning teams every year, most important thing is the development of the young lads
