McGeady will be the first name on the teamsheet, very surprised to see so many leaving him out, He's different class!

With any luck, he will be for start of the league season, but remember he hasn't played since November and he's 36 so we may need to phase him in gently over the next few weeks to get him up to full speed.

Marshall, Miller, Porto & McGeady look like the only nailed on starters, with the caveat that it is very, very early days.
Great to have healthy competition for places and that's with Hanlon, Mitchell, Magennis and Nisbet to come back.
It would be good to get Dabrowski involved in cup games but Marshall needs to build an understanding with the defence, so he might have to wait.
If the five subs rule applies, then there's still plenty of scope to try different combinations.
Roll on next Saturday...

I'd add Lewis and Newell to that list. Stevenson looks a good bit better than Doig imo and Newell has great mobility and very suited to the type of game LJ wants to play.

Absolutely delightful that I have no idea what our starting 11 will be nor what our actual best 11 will be.

Still another couple of signings to come in and with Hanlon, Mitchell, Magennis and Nisbet still to come back in it's definitely looking more positive.

This is how I feel. I have tried a few times to write down my best team and then realise I have missed someone like McGeady or Melkersen and start again.

Great problem to have and with the players you mention to come back it will only get tougher to choose.

Will definitely be tough for Johnson if both Youan and Melkersen do well and get a few goals, Melkersen did look ok out on the right vs Hartlepool but then we have Hauge and Jair who have both started the pre-season well.

I thought Campbell was worth a shout out for today, he is so much better when more advanced. Not the greatest footballer in the world but with this high press he could be a key assist sometimes this season.

not a team i would suggest for a league game but since we should have most of the ball and it is the first home game for a lot of players, we should be trying to get as many exciting players on the park as possible

Think we need to play Marshall.

We need to win these games but also need to use them to be ready for the league. Marshall was out injured end of last season so needs games and also think we need to get him building an understanding with the defence. Would give Dabrowski a game in one of them but Marshall should play the bull of them IMO.

Its funny cause Rocky has done absolutely nothing wrong in preseason, and pretty much strolled it, and no mention. Such is the squad at the minute.

I dont see any reason why Youan cant play in behind Melk, one of the most impressive things ive seen from him is his tracking back and winning the ball. Outstanding for a striker.

It's great we are all struggling to know who to leave out a best 11 - last season we struggled to put players in.

Marshall starts.
Youan looks like he is a starter.
Melkerson looks like he has put on muscle pre-season and looking real sharp.
McGeady looks class
Travers looks lively and Johnson rates highly
Nisbet is a first 11 pick when fit
Magennis is a first pick when fit
Miller shining in the 2 games
Cadden last year POTY
Henderson starting to step up, looks far more influencial in the middle.
Porteous starts - captain
Doig starts - we aren't a good enough team to leave out a £3million man.
Kenneh going to be a big player for us.
Newell looking strong pre season.

I honestly think there's argument for most positions on the park - even between the sticks as if Dabrowski starts he's earned it - and that's so, so healthy.

Wouldn't be too unhappy if Chrissy gets the start.
