Resigning isn't enough IMO. But I can't articulate what I'd like to see happen to him and the ****s that surround him, or I'd be arrested.
Correct. As with other public servants who do so... they should be charged with misconduct in a public office.

I have never understood why it doesn't seem to extend to MPs.

They're criminals the lot of them

Why is he so desperate to stay in the job? Its not as if he needs the money.

Could it be he's been compromised?

I don't know about that. There's been rumours of him being broke, particularly around the time about using the donations to do up his flat.

Edit: Your general point still stands though as he could probably earn more (legitimately) being out of office.

He's a very dangerous mix of unprincipled and thick as mince. He's surrounded by a cabinet of people in the same boat and there's every chance that he's gotten himself into a lot of trouble.

The most savvy thing he's ever done is convince people he's thick as mince.

Oh how we laughed when he appeared on have I got news...

He's just a nasty two faced ******* with utter disregard for everyone and he knows he can get away with it.

I think he's convinced people that it's quite an innocent ignorance. People forget the conspiring to have a journalist's ribs broken, the "tank topped bum boys" and the "letterboxes" and remember the gaffes of him dangling from the zip wire and the like.

We talking Murray or Douglas here? Either way more faces than a town hall clock.

To think that Bozo's tenure is somehow relevant to events in Ukraine is truly bizarre.

Exactly. Shipping ar.ms abroad has nothing to do with him personally. Any PM could do exactly the same.

It's the same ploy as the "getting on with the Govts vaccine roll-out". It was the NHS rolled out the vaccine. All they did was spend our money on it

The Tories go on and on about changing leader will take months and leave the UK in turmoil during these difficult times... that's ONLY if the Tories put up multiple leadership candidates, they could easily put someone up as interim leader and it's an almost overnight process.

I suppose it all depends on if they want to put their party or the country first?

Amusingly, Douglas Ross has somehow managed to end the day with even less credibility than Johnson.

He'll stay on for the next wee while, allow him to soak up all the negatively around partygate and the cost of living crisis caused by Brexit, Tory MPs will then vote in a new leader, probably Sunak, about 3 months before a general election and sell it as moving on from Boris ect.

They have no moral compass whatsoever. Any idiot can see Boris should not be leading the country but Tory MPs would rather pickup their paycheck than do what's right and proper for their constituents.
England is not ready for a brown skinned PM and those who are are unlikely to vote Tory.

Expect a diversionary story very soon, maybe even tomorrow. Energy prices relief or similar of that ilk.

If theres any cash left, target it at the traditional nasty party base plus any red wallers who still think Bozo and the gang will chase all the "foreigners" away whilst simultaneously saving £350m a week from the EU to give directly to the NHS.

That'll help them limp on for a few more months but the country will need to either ramp up its production of union Jack's dramatically or import more from China to keep the momentum going.

He'll borrow it now and the plebs will repay it through tax hikes later, meanwhile those impoverished energy suppliers shareholders will trouser an even bigger windfall.

    Johnson is now safe.

It was down to his fellow MPs to show some balls and vote him out.

But for the vast majority they put personal interest above doing the right thing for the country. They are almost as bad.

He will be here until general election now.

Bears repeating in France, where they have capped fuel prices, the average gas price increase? 4%. U.K. average? 127%. Electricity? They capped EDFs profits 6 months ago. That’s why the French don’t have widespread food bank use.

EDF provide electricity to 600,000 homes in the UK. The French will be using their profits from the UK to subsidise their French operations.

Have family in France, ordinary working people, they're dealing with nothing like the issues on fuel and cost of living that similar people in UK are.

I put this to my Tory loyalist friend who without hesitation retorted that it is because they will be throwing EU and French tax payers money at it to paper over the cracks.

We on the other hand are throwing UK tax payers money, plus money from god knows where at this, plus dodgy PPE contracts and all we have to show for it is world beating inflation, rising poverty and wages failing to keep pace.

At least we know it's our own government that has taken back control of all this.

    Huzzah, Bozo's at the wheel.

That sounds very plausible. So the French state operator, essentially an arm of the French state, is using money from millions of impoverished 'Brits' and using it to reduce French people's bills? Thats the power you can wield when you have state assets. But of course, there is 'No Alternative' to unfettered free market capitalism
