Imagine you’re a civil servant, you go to a lockdown party at #10, the PM pours the drinks and walks round chatting to you and it’s clearly his party, but you get fined for attending and he doesn’t for holding it? And this happens 125 other times while he gets fined ONCE?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The Met aren’t a police force, they’re the Tory stormtroopers.
‘ One Whitehall source pointed out that junior civil servants had received FPNs for going to at least one event which the prime minister not only attended but also gave a speech at.’

I have a suspicion that starmer saying he will resign if fined may have influenced the police response to not giving Johnson any further fines. Let's face it, if others at the BYOB garden party were fined then so should he and his wife.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Johnson and Gray had a private meeting a month ago to discuss handling of the report.
Do they actually do anything that isn't corrupt any more? They've long since bothered to try and hide the lies and deception. They know they can lie with impunity. These are dangerous times in UK politics. I fear for the future.

Always liked Mhairi Black. She's the kind of radical (relatively speaking) voice that an independent Scotland needs.
There's going to be huge risk that in the desperation for consensus there will be a broad continuation of neoliberalism albeit with more of a social conscience. People like Black are the voices we need to make sure that doesn't happen.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

Too many people put too much emphasise on the Tories or Johnson being what drives support for Indy. It’s a crap system that favours the the south of England above all else that drives support for Indy. That won’t change no matter who is in power in London.

The next, if there ever is one, left of center progressive Labour government it will be too late.
Scotland will be a thriving, established independent county for a long time by then.Space to let

The referendum will be so close that I would presume that if a labour Westminster government came in before it, then it would be a no vote.
Me not wanting that doesn't change the reality of another tory win helps independence.
It's undecideds that is the game 40% either way won't budge. Alot of labour voters to be won and many would want to give a labour Westminster a chance, thinking they are daft doesn't change the factLast edited by Stairway 2 7; 22-05-2022 at 03:28 AM.

Top Tory MP faces drink spiking claims as victim 'woke up to find nipples being licked' - Mirror Online
A senior Tory MP is caught up in allegations swirling around Westminster that he plied four victims with date-rape drugs.
It is claimed the man used the substance on a fellow Conservative MP, who awoke to find his nipples being licked.
It is also said a Labour MP was abused after the man administered the drug to him – while the flatmate of another Tory MP claimed to friends he had a similar experience.
A fourth man also claimed he had rebuffed his advances, and had suspicions his drink was spiked.
A source said: “The name of this alleged attacker is being spoken about openly among Conservative MPs.

It depends on the type of Labour government.
If it’s the type of centre right Labour government that England might actually vote in then that should be a gift to the SNP.
If it was a “proper” Labour government (that would very much be up against ever being voted in) then that would be a different story.

Imran Ahmad Khan: Ex-MP jailed for sex assault on teenage boy - BBC News
don't enjoy yer stay too much Tory ***t
A former Conservative MP has been jailed for 18 months following his conviction for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy.
At a trial last month, Imran Ahmad Khan, 48, who was elected as Wakefield MP in 2019, was found guilty of groping the boy at a party in 2008.
Khan was expelled by the Conservative party following his conviction and later stood down as an MP.
The judge said he did not accept Khan had "any remorse" for what he had done.
