I saw him pretending to be an American and a Liverpudlian on the tellybox the other day. Is he going to be wheeled out to do a Scottish accent at some point as well?
He comes across as someone who would be quite entertaining to be in the company of or possibly even friends with, but who you wouldn't want anywhere near a seat of power.

I watched that yesterday….the best bit is where Kwasi blames the EU for their legalist thinking…I.e they won’t break their own laws to do what we want them
    to.

I don’t know how his ministers sleep at night knowing they have to try and peddle this nonsense.
When the lying gets called out then just blame it on someone else, and to think there is people in this country who think they are doing a grand job.

What we need is more chimneys to sweep and more little street urchins to doff their caps to the new elite that the Nasty party is creating, in return for a farthing and a cheery smile from a top hat bedecked Rees Mogg.

This is what that odious tory Lee Anderson wants. 30p meals are basically gruel, and he wants you to perform tasks to get that gruel. That is pretty much a workhouse. To go along with the workhouses the tories would also re-introduce debtors prison, where you get sent to work off your debt at slave labour rates whilst they charge you for the 'free' accommodation they offer and gruel at £1 a plate, because you know, they need to make a profit on the food they provide you. But don't worry they won't introduce debtors prison until the NHS is totally privatised and people already on their knees will need to face medical debt too.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

It's unbelievable how often these sad, ridiculous type of statements crop up from the detestable Tories, that coupled with Tory ministers families and friends being awarded millions, or in some cases literally Billions of taxpayers money via dodgy contracts.

I'd urge anybody who can do so to join a political party which opposes the Tories, and then help out with leafletting etc.

I'd say the solution to rid ourselves of people like Anderson is to vote for independence and free our country from these selfish morons in Westminster.

Scotland would be a much better and fairer place without these type of ramblings from Westminster and also from the unelected friends of Tories who sit in the House of Lords.

Not sure if there will be a 2023 referendum. It would be close but these tory statements will certainly help. There's a global inflation and energy price crisis coming, its whether snp can dodge that or deflect it down south

On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being absolute certainty what would you say the chances of a referendum in 2023 are?

Bearing in mind Nicola Sturgeon said she would announce her plans "within weeks" in January and we are now in May.

I just don't see it at all.

I can’t see it and don’t think the timing is right for SNP. I think NS is of a similar opinion and that’s why it’s taking so long to bring bill before parliament. Like all parties though, the SNP has to placate its fundamentalists though so can’t be that sure about what happens.

No doubt our intention to hold a referendum in our own country will be strongly resisted by the Tory government and by their unionist friends in Westminster, but our Scottish parliament have a mandate from the last Scottish election to hold an independence referendum within this parliamentary period.

So to answer your question, I think it's a 10 that the referendum in Scotland will happen in 2023.

Would be worried if so. Polls although obviously aren't accurate give an idea. All have no majority this year. Lose this and it will be decades before another. Huge huge call

Huge huge call at any time for both sides of the debate. Neither side can be certain of a favourable result.

I think you are spot on, but Nicola Sturgeon does seem to get a fairly easy ride from her supporters so far, but if she fails to deliver another referendum in 2023 then for the first time ever does she start to feel the pressure from supporters who are taking her word for it and that it's happening in 2023.

This is quite a read. Remember when you've read it it's time to move as the Govt are trying "to get on with the job", whatever that is.

As always the messaging has turned round to suggest “it’s your fault”

Anderson and Maclean narrative is deliberate and plays to a generation that will deep down agree with some of this.

The lack of any empathy and an ounce of integrity is just jaw dropping.

You cannot unilaterally amend an international treaty. This shouldn't be difficult to understand. Tories breaking international law for the sake of the DUP. It's a very dangerous road here.

Andrew Rosindell MP has done some very interesting work for the all party ‘flags and heraldry’ committee. Amazing what they get up to at the HoC.

We have somehow managed to sleepwalk into a situation where the very worst people in society have an iron grip on power.

Sociopaths, misogynists, racists, rapists, xenophobes, narcissists and psychopaths.

For years I honestly thought the country would come to it's collective senses but I'm no longer convinced. If there was an election tomorrow this shower would probably win again.

In the absence of any proper political opposition, rent strikes being discussed online. Organised financial disobedience might be the only way to get this Govt to act.
