The bit in bold, which I first heard about yesterday, is what strikes me because to pay £30k to avoid paying UK tax suggests (with no evidence) that her tax liability must be many times that amount, otherwise why bother? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I saw one report...unsubstantiated of course... that said her UK liability on her Infosys shares would.have been £2m otherwise.

None of this is news (ie in the sense that it's some sort of suppressed scandal that's only now been uncovered). It was well-known in Westminster that his wife is a non-dom, while the couple have hardly made any attempts to conceal their wealth. Sunak, I read today, hosts regular 'Gatsby-esque' parties at his country home. It seems, primarily, to have been pushed up the headlines partly by those within his own party looking to blunt his leadership hopes and, understandably, by those eager to jump on the coat-tails of a Tory-bashing opportunity.

Legislation has been passed allowing the NHS to be sold off.
Here's what will happen.
Despite the increased tax and NI (which won't be spent on the NHS as we know it) the torys will say that with great reluctance, despite our best efforts (and all your money) it is impossible for the NHS to remain solely funded by the public purse.
To start with there will be a hybrid model (NHS type plus insurance) as seen in some European countries but over time the full USA model will be here in the UK.
There's money to be made from poor peoples illness. It's only right and proper that very wealthy people become even more wealthy on the back of the majority of peoples misery.Space to let

When it happens we’ll be told this isn’t privatisation and people will believe them. It’s likely that we’ll be told that paying for docs appointments is to stop foreigners abusing our amazing NHS. And we’ll all cheer. Or at least enough of us to make sure it happens.
