    France grand slam.
What's your thoughts now? I'm considering taking "cash out" before the England game. I thought France looked a bit nervous and weren't great under the high ball against Wales.
I think Ireland will hammer Scotland to go top of the table putting extra pressure on France who aren't the best at dealing with high expectations. Different this time?

That's a pool we're not getting out of, sadly. Not based on any of our Six Nations performances so far anyway. Even our 2 wins we've looked really sluggish, lacking any real penetration.

The lack of quality coming up the back in our U21s worries me for the coming years to be honest.
Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Butler makes your ears bleed , Jiffy's not much better they'd give your ******** a migraine. Looking at social media on Friday night after the Wales game there where a lot of people tell Brain Moore how big a mistake the BBC have made in dropping him from their six nations coverage

He was a good co commentator - knowledgeable and able to hide his bias. Davies is a disgrace.

when commentating on Italy vs Ireland (or any other non welsh match!), Davies would only be heard saying things like ‘tremendous play from wales there’

an interesting take on Finn Russell
Scotland: Key issues facing Gregor Townsend before Six Nations trip to Dublin - BBC Sport

The fulcrum of Scotland's attack is Russell - but the 29-year-old has been a shadow of the player everyone knows he is. He still swaggers about with the smile and smirk we've become accustomed to but hasn't delivered on that charmer's promise.
The calmness that personifies his game has given way to questionable decision-making. The other worry is that no longer is he just ill-disciplined with the ball in hand - kicking needlessly or trying the endless Hollywood ball that will not come off this season - he is also giving away penalties and picking up cards as a result.
The yellow in Cardiff was costly, having gotten away with his yellow at Twickenham and red in Paris last year. If Scotland are ever going to challenge for the title, they need Russell at his very best and this year he has been ineffective.

i'd still love to know why we blew not just the result against Wales this season but the same ending against the Welsh last season at Murrayfield, i just can't understand why we completely fell out of these games, surely can't be a lack of energy, the only things i can think of is either managerial tactics or the players themselves deciding to just hold on to what they had which is more or less the impression i got during and after that defeat to Wales, i couldn't understand why we just let wales dictate most of the play in the second 40, especially after playing so well in the first, maybe like football it's just one of those 'game of two halves' things i guess

I think Finn struggles with 2 bosh merchants outside him. Johnson, Tuipolotu, Harris etc are all blunt instruments. He has always played his best stuff with Jones, Bennett, Scott etc. he has also looked really good with Redpath. At Racing he has excellent centres who are on his wave length. Harris can’t even execute a simple overlap as we saw v France.

I see he has now been dropped for Kinghorn which is just a mental decision. Townsend seems to have completely lost his way. Gone after the World Cup you would imagine, but Scotland are now regressing at an alarming rate.

Russell among those disciplined for a breach of protocol this week:

Italy were brilliant earlier, a well deserved win.

Scotland started well then back to normal giving away too many penalties, we're still in it though. TMO was pretty eager to have our try overturned

Shoeman lucky not to be off there, leads with the arm and Hogg was a greedy get by not passing inside, poor stuff. We must have the worst discipline record in world rugby, time for Townsend to go.

Dear France, sorry we couldn't help you out a wee bitty

    but anyway

well done Italy, 7 long years wait for a six nations win, 36 game losing streak is finally over

Scotland the only side to lose to Wales this series thus allowing them to avoid the wooden spoon, but we do finish 4th, amazingly we coulda finished 3rd

I said that months ago. We're talented and yet we make so my technical errors and the discipline issues are ridiculous. It's coaching pure and simple.

Russell is a maverick but he's our key guy and we need to find a coach who can keep him at the top of his game for Scotland.

    I'm done with Townsend

Not kept up with the six nations is it France and Ireland with the chance of winning the tournament?

I think Scotland have hit a wall at this stage, not sure where they go from here. There's only so many times you can say "onwards and upwards" and continue to believe that there actually is a higher ceiling that is achievable for this bunch.

I think they're just the fourth best team in the 6 Nations.
