I thought I'd share some good news with everyone.
Today we managed to get 30 of our orphanage children onto a train in Dnipro, and they are currently making their way across Ukraine towards Lviv in the west.
The journey is not without its dangers, so I'll wait patiently until I hear they have safely arrived in Lviv.

,Stevie.
You did appear very determined during your TV interview that they would get across country somehow after having the disappointment regarding the buses,
You certainly sent signals to those that should be doing more ,on assistance and plans for the kids when they reach you .
No words from us here can fully express the regard you are held in doing this dangerous work
.But we know its a labour of love for you.
I wish i was in better health and more mobile and able to help you in a practical way.

Good on you Stevie, hope you all have a safe journey.
All I can practically do here is donate and have gof after a few others to do so as well.
Take care.

What great work you are doing Stevie. These kids will have you in their lives forever. I just wish we can help you more. Take care and please stay safe Could we contribute financially direct I have already contributed through other channels at Hibernian but not sure if that goes directly to your cause

Stevie, if need be my door is open. We need these kids to be safe first and foremost but the UK government not making it easy for you and so many others.
Stay safe and don't hesitate to ask, anytime.

Stevie, you are a hero, my son. We can only offer finance and our best wishes. For the moment I'm contributing to Dnipro Kids but let us know if you think a more appropriate channel for funding exists.

Stevie is there a way to donate and sponsor a child in a oner? My business would like to sponsor a child and in doing so would give the cash quicker…?
thanks to you and the volunteers for the care and dedication and the inspiration for good in others.
The world needs more of this and to bring hope in these dark days.

I’m in awe of you Stevie, simply amazing.
Is the plan for these children to be based in western Ukraine or Poland for the time being? Or something else, e.g. over to the UK?
I’m not in the position to fly across Europe and support in the brave and admiral way you have, but would love to help somehow, through fundraising, organising supplies of clothing / food or the likes. Be great to hear how others can chip in and help. Appreciate that’s not your priority at the moment, but will keep an eye on your updates.
Good luck!

I just view myself as an ordinary guy that’s doing what he can to make the lives of those he cares about a little bit better. No different to the vast majority of parents out there.
And none of it would be possible without the financial assistance we receive from all of you. 👍

We used to do individual child sponsorship in the early days, but it was a huge task to undertake trying to give individual updates on each child. Plus we had issues during the transitional period of large institutional orphanages to the smaller “family-type” orphanages that we support today.
We do have lots of supporters that pay a monthly donation, and get the updated emailed directly to them, but it’s not child sponsorship as such just supporting what we do.
We have banded about the idea of a website update and have sponsorship of actually orphanages, but that involves a complete revamp of the website which we fear could be time consuming and costly.

The plan, if we can get the government to allow it, is to bring them to Scotland where we have an amazing support network with the Hibernian community. Just need Boris and his mob to stop their closed borders mentality and allow these wonderful kids in.

.On BBC News just now ,Victoria Derbyshire speaking online to Edinburgh businessman Stuart McKenzie who is now in Poland ,but has lived and worked in Ukraine for 30yrs and he knows Stevie Carr.
He has met with Stevie and is assisting efforts to get the kids to Poland.
Stuart fled Kyiv early in the invasion ands is now housed in Kracow.Poland
Am sure he along with Stevie and others will get the children in a safe place.
Stuart is also trying to get his people, friends to safety.
Th Home Office needs to fast track the visa system and do our share in helping Ukraine refugee crisis .
It is more than just critical now ...It is deadly
Our UK Govt must surely be aware that UK citizens are helping with clothing, with medical assistance and feeding the children and their adult helpers.
Get more officials/staff from here to Poland and get these people visa passes now. Not next month !!
The excuses so far from UK Govt on delays are frankly embarrassing and shameful.Last edited by Mick O'Rourke; 10-03-2022 at 10:11 AM.
