Well there you go, clearly we will not be in as poor a position as we were in the summer.

We learned the hard way but it’s a lesson that only needs to be taught once.

Levein trolling Hearts from afar. Supposedly he advised Souttar he should go to Rangers, now he's saying the deal is the "steal of the century".

St Mirren want Allan as a replacement for McGrath.

Surely we can sort a similar player exchange similar to the summer so we can get McGrath too.

Difference is, McGrath can sign a pre contract with someone else now, and sounds like he’s as good as done that with Aberdeen.

Aberdeen no longer after McGrath due to interest from down south according to the Scotsman.

You have got to assume wages down there much better. Think Boro were in for him in summer

If he’s not coming here, which it doesn’t sound like he is as no interest has been mentioned this month then I’ll be delighted if McGrath goes to England.

Really good player who would do well for Aberdeen.

Reckon we could sort some deal involving Allan going to them this window, and McGrath joining us?

I think that ship sailed in the summer, he's going to get paid much more than we would pay him by going down South.

  15. #4814
The reason we never got McGrath in the summer was that he was only really wanting to go down south, that’s why we ran out of time because we only had any chance of getting him after his Middlesbrough move fell through last minute.

I’m not sure he should be talking about Souttar’s personal circumstances in public, but I suppose the story would come out eventually.

It won’t stop a section of the Hearts support having a pop though - Scott Brown also stayed in Scotland for family reasons, yet to this day a section of our support still deride him for not being ‘brave enough’ to test himself in England.

It would be a head scratcher for sure. Is Doidge really going to go to Dundee is the other side of that - I have my doubts.

Unless it was a case of bringing in at least 2 strikers, with Doidge going there to get game time? Thats the only remotely logical reason I can imagine it would be allowed.

It’s the kind of left field tactical innovation we are here for.

Not surprised to read that Tony Watt will be going to UTD this window rather than the summer after getting money in from Villa for their young defender. Will be a loss for Motherwell.

BREAKING! Tony Watt will join Dundee United today after Motherwell agreed a fee for the striker.

You have to laugh that after all this time CL is STILL in contact enough with the first team that they are disclosing serious family illnesses with him!

I don't see Doidge fitting into Mallonys high tempo pressing game. He's not that type of player.

Doidge does more running in 20 mins than Nisbet has done all year.... its been Doidge's energy that we have missed for ages this season, I actually think he will do well under Maloney.

If Doidge doesn't fit, what chance has Nisbet got?
