Just heard from a yam I know that Soutter spoke to a few people for advice before joining the hun.

One of these advisers was none other than Craig Levein, who felt Rangers were the best choice. Strikes me as no surprise as Levein is always full of praise when asked about Soutter so still knows him well.

No doubt this would induce a few more snotters down at tiny.
Levein is also involved with Brechin

Seems he certainly didn’t talk to his own manager about it, because Neilson seemed unaware of the pre-contract yesterday until it was announced.

Off the Ball just now has been pointing out Hearts fans are hypocritical. They signed him on a pre-contract from Dundee United.
    That's quite amusing. 😀

Did he no sign for Hearts in the January? 6 months before he was out of contract.

A couple of weeks after signing a pre-contract with them.

From the man himself prior to moving, he told me he wanted to go south and ultimately the premier league as he wanted to test himself against the best there is.
You’ve had more footballers in the back of your cab than James Corden has had celebrities singing karaoke with him behind the wheel.

I know I have green tinted specs on but I just have never rated Souttar that highly. Any time we played them I always fancied we could take advantage of his vulnerabilities and his tendency to make a mistake or two.

Levein built him up and long touted him for Scotland but to me that was for selfish reasons rather than an honest critique of the player. It will be interesting if he has improved or indeed improves whilst at Rangers but apart from the annoyance of losing a player to them on the cheap I don’t think Hearts will miss him that much.

I think he’s a good player and they will miss him a great deal. Seems to offer quite a bit going forward, as well as being a good defender.

Haha I met him at the Willowbrae garage and had a wee blether for 15 mins or so, bumped into him a few times at Meadowbank Sainsbury's as he had a flat next to it, good lad and was always up for a wee chat, he knew where he wanted to go.

He’s had some very wobbly moments in derbies and tbh I’d be inclined to agree with you here - whilst acknowledging this will be far from the full story.

Some rumour on A non rumour thread on Hibs.net that the Hibee bounce say there is mention on twitter that a new bid is in for Boyle.

    Sounds credible.
