Finally, I think he might actually be done. He will drag it out a bit longer in the desperate hope he can bribe, intimidate or bluff his way through as he's always done.

But I think this is the beginning of the end for Boris as PM.
Hopefully he takes a few political rivals out with him. Wouldn't surprise me if he did.

Starmer did ok but he's not a great speaker. Dare I say Blair would have torn the PM off a bigger strip?

Great question about Johnson getting sacked for lying in 2 previous jobs and why his job as Prime Minister should be any different

This is glorious watching him get a right good kicking, he looks like a defeated man.

There's more to come. They're still giving him enough rope to hang himself and he's unwittingly helping them build the gallows. Utter arse of a human and dimwit educated way beyond his own intellectual capabilities.

Blair wasn't actually much cop at PMQs either - it's a weird sort of panto environment.

No surprise there then, cue more nasty party squealing about how the government needs to be allowed to overrule the independent judiciary. Obviously only when their corruption in cases like this is laid bare.

I'm going to go on a bold one here - a general election in the spring wouldn't shock me. Anyone with honour would resign, but he's not and even in that statement he had the tone of "don't blame me, other people did it and I just thought it was a work party" and "the rage towards me...and my government".

He's vain enough to do it I reckon.

What might save him is the fact that most of his front bench team and and a good proportion of Tory MPs, will have been at these parties as well. If Boris comes crashing down then so will they. Heads above the parapet and all that.

Surely Rishi Sunak must have been a little bit curious about a party in his back garden?

Thats absolutely spot on everything that was said by him in the commons today was about protecting his personal liability. Its constructing a legal defence. That is always the cas e to some extent in the HoC but today felt more like a cross examination with the accused occasionally straying from 'no Comment' or 'I wish to exercise my rights under the 5th amendment'...The whole thing was an insult to democracy but compelling viewing all the same.

Yup. After no doubt extensive legal and political advice he decided to go with the version that protects him the most and throws everyone else under the bus. He is the worst of the worst. No moral compass and integrity of a snake.

Every so often, you remember that in April 2020, Scotland’s chief medical officer resigned because she visited her own second home, with her own immediate family.

I totally forgot about that. I was raging at her at the time but in hindsight this is nothing compared with some of stuff going on at Downing Street.

There was an attempt to brazen that one out, but it lasted about 36 hours I think before it was accepted she had to go
