Barrie Wilkins follows Melkerson on Instagram, if that's not a sign he's signing 😂😂

Had a wee look on brokeback.

They have a cartoon of a couple of guys burning money and relating this to the Hibs transfer approach.

Talk about hypocrisy. No other club in Scotland has burned as much money as them in the last 5 - 6 years.
Not only slagging off our potential signings but also slagging off our recruitment policy proves how much they are worried about us catching them.

You are right, in the last 5 years or so they've probably been the worst in the SPFL, pound for pound, in the transfer market and have been the biggest under achievers.

Wonder what the fee we’re paying for Melkerson is, given the Scotsman state it is ‘significantly’ more than the £350k already suggested.

Makes you think either one of Boyle/Doig/Nisbet/Porto is off, or Ron is fronting personally a substantial war chest for Maloney. Exciting times.

I don't think Ron is here to mess around. Some of the new contracts dished out are proof of that. Exciting second half of the season ahead imo.

We're obviously still looking at targets that we had under Ross. I'd be surprised if Maloney has come in from Belgium and pinpointed Harry Clarke from Ross County. No issue with that just an observation.
Agree with this, though I don't actually have any issues with it as I felt we've brought in good players during Ross' time. Scott is the obvious one that hasn't worked out but even Ross called him out publicly on the lack of effort he was showing.

I was a Ross fan, we were getting good results, but I'll not disagree with the point of view we were maybe under utilising some players to play it safe. So if Maloney likes the look of these players and thinks they'll work in his system then we've been doing something right.

I think the 384 million sponsors we announced earlier this season is playing a bit part in our new spending.

From conversations I've had, Celtic are way down the list of anything Irish folk are interested in. Must have been the money.
    Name of club then money.

Did they not have a turn over of something like 80 players while Levein was over seeing things?

He isn’t there now but they’ve got a long way to go before they can start slagging other clubs signing policies.

Oh and I do hope they’re enjoying their stonking season while we have endured our worst league run since Lennon left us and are a cavernous 7 points behind them in the league.

Hickey to Villa. Hearts due some £.
I'm hearing from a friend in Rome it's Lazio and a swap deal for Manual Lazzari. Which I believe will cut the Yams out of much cash.

During the Celtic John McGinn saga it was posted on here that in the event of a player swap for a future transfer of a prev club has a % of profit they're still due whatever the financial equivalent of the deal would be. No idea how accurate that is though.

90 players in 6 years. NINETY. Good use of all the FOH/benefactor cash if you ask me.

Something almost romanov corrupt about that number of players going through any club imo.

  16. #1875
Would be nice to get a few completed deals by the end of the week to give the players as much time to be ready for the restart.

Not seeing anything official but going on Shaun saying he wants some friendly games in the next few weeks last week we might have a game at the weekend.

The £250k UEFA payment will no doubt have helped us!

Re. the possible Clarke loan. Can Arsenal recall a player on loan and send him on loan immediately to another club? I thought that the lending club had to have particularly strong reasons for doing so.

Think so, but then you can offset that £250k you had earmarked for the youth system and use it elsewhere (or just pump more money into the youth, of course).

  25. #1884
Getting to the cup final would have been worth a right few quid to us, especially with the prices for that and the semi final.

Depends on the details of the loan agreement but essentially yes. They player can go straight back out on loan to another team assuming he has not been registered with three clubs within the qualifying period

Indeed, is that not what has just happened to Ross County?
