I'm very excited about the second half of the season. I think we already have the nucleus of a good team, we've just not had a big enough squad to cope with injuries and suspensions to key players. With four or five new additions this month (including Mueller and Tait) and even the likes of Hallberg back from injury, I can see us having a really strong end to the season. Europe is still very realistic.

Getting vibes of our winter transfer window our first season back up in the Prem. Really excited to see how this pans out!

Sky are saying Clarke is an initial loan deal.
Very similar to the Macey deal.

I don't think Macey was ever on loan? Signed a six-month deal then a two-year one, did he not?

Is there potential the Clarke deal is similar to what we done with Murphy?

6 month loan so he stays on his Arsenal wage and then joins us permanently in the summer after signing a pre contract?
That's more likely, Loan with agreement of permanent, Hibs paying a portion of his Arsenal wages, until the point he signs a perm.

I think we still have a decent chance at third place. Hearts are good, no doubt about it, and they’re consistent, but they’re catchable

An absolute graveyard of a club for young players. They just take punts on loads of them and hope for the occasional success like Frimpong to fund the habit, the rest are quickly forgotten about. You'd wonder who is advising these lads to go there in the first place.
Celtic produce more pro players than any Scottish club?

If Hanlon/Porteous just defended like he did at Tynecastle for both goals they’d be getting slaughtered and not called a great signing
He’s had a shocker for that goal but I’m sure every CB in the league has been badly at fault for the odd goal by this point in the season.

Over the 18 games he’s had rave reviews.

Guy I know left Celtic in the summer knocking back a new deal at 18 he’s already been on the bench 3 times for EPL side and involved in 6 other match day squads he didn’t get close to any of that at Celtic even when they had 14 players isolating etc v hibs last season.

Ralston was right place right time as they had no other RB’s for the new guy to pick or he’d be out same as Welsh who is now fading out the side as they recruit others, Mickey Johnston is being hounded by the fans for not being good enough, guys like tierney and macgregor are exceptions to what normally happens with old firm youngsters they fill a gap when it’s desperate and then their replaced
Is that Oko-flex? He's a good example, was highly rated at Arsenal, brought in to Celtic by Rodgers, never got much of a look in and has done well again at West Ham since he left Celtic. Might get a run out in the FA Cup and then a loan move would be good for him to continue his development. Wouldn't have got any of that if he stayed at Celtic.

Of course we do. We have to play them three more times. If the club aren’t eyeing third place as possible then something is wrong

Tbh, considering the run we went on which lead to JRs sacking, it’s a minor miracle we’re only 7 points behind 3rd - bit embarrassing too really for Hearts that they’re not a lot further ahead.

Strange we have Mcginn and Cadden who can play RB ..Surely it has to be permanent after the season finishes
Did McGinn not have a knock in the Aberdeen game and missed the Dundee Utd game with an injury. It might be he is cover for him if he is going to be out for a while. Just thinking laterally if you see what I mean. Could be completely wrong though

I’d hope we are looking for an upgrade on McGinn.

The signing of Harry Clarke will push McGinn down the pecking order, terrific young signing with bundles of energy and pace. Very physical player too.

McGinn has been awful this season and most of the goals conceded have come from his area. Dependable player but horribly off form.

The Ewan Henderson signing is one that excites me, he's a player with lots to offer and loads of development ahead of him. Really good technical player

Where do you see Henderson playing? Central midfielder or a creative player off the wings?

To be honest he's quite versatile that way, for me though, he's a 10 role centrally dictating the attacking play. I watched him at Dunfermline a couple of times and he drifted out wider, left side cutting in. He's extremely good technically and retaining possession in tight areas and is not afraid to demand the ball. The only weakness is his lack of physique and his technique makes up for a lack of pace.

Would be a very very good signing though.

    Thought so.

Just need to announce them now!

Fingers crossed we get them over the line (that’s my only worry now)

Mentioned earlier in the thread but I personally thought he'd be out our range price wise, looks a right talent.

I keep seeing this but Ewan Henderson is not better than Liam. A cursory glance at their respective careers will tell you that. At Ewan’s age Liam had played around 120 (~8400 mins) professional games compared to Ewan’s 30 odd games (~1600 mins). Liam had contributed greatly to his teams successes on loans at Rosenborg and Hibs while Ewan has unremarkable spells at Ross County and Dunfermline. At nearly 22, Ewan has played hardly any first team football, starting less than 20 first team games in his career across his different clubs.
I looked this up the other day as well after being told this by my mate who knows some Celtic fans. Euan’s played a fraction of the matches that Liam’s played at the same age. Only 8 games for Celtic so no idea how the Celtic fans can make the leap to say he’s better.

That’s not to say he won’t be but at the age of 22 he’s played 25 first team games so let’s not set expectations too high.
