I’ll never understand people that think Yogi is a good manager.
His cv is pretty up and down, but he's as good as Dunfermline will get, nothing crazy about it.

A Scottish cup win not that long ago with Inverness.

He talks rubbish but will galvanise the Dunfermline players for the rest of the season..

Managed to get Raith relegated from a very similar position so not sure what Dunfermline's thinking is here. And he's a Falkirk man so not a fantastic start.

That said, the locals seem happy enough with this.

Is Yogi now the go to guy if you want a troubleshooter.

If he gets Dunfermline out the relegation zone and keeps them up this season, will he then get moved on for somebody else as happened at Ross County.

It's not a bad niche to have. Sam Allardyce made an absolute fortune bouncing around clubs in England doing exactly that.

Also totally outplayed Rangers in a Scottish cup final when at Falkirk losing 1 0 to an against the play goal.

He is a mixed bag however think he will do ok.

Won 8 games out of 20 when Ross County looked destined for relegation, including the last 3. Real high pressure, make or break stuff.

Couldn't do it at Raith, but he inherited a team of Gary Locke's old pals from hearts who just seen their man get the sack after slumping into a relegation battle.

I am concerned he may have inherited a poisioned chalice here too though.

I thought that Yogi would have been a better shout to start with than Peter Grant. Might just be perception thing, but for me, Peter Grant has an air of Billy Davies about him. Insinuating that he is doing you a real favour by being your Manager.

Some cracking quotes in there that would certainly back up your assertion re Peter Grant.

Crazy appt. can see them actually getting relegated which is astounding considering they were one of the favs to win it.
They were 8/1. I put a couple of quid on them!

I can’t believe he was even considering it, he could get a better club than that.

I thought Norwich ruled him out as a potential manager as opposed to Frank pulling out ?

Always felt yogi would be an excellent assistant as he can motivate a team, just keep him away from signing players, keep him away from the tactics board and keep him away from the Mike

Aye but he’s no at Chelsea now, he’s unemployed 😉

I thought Norwich would be a good fit for him. I’m not sure what another realistic option is for him?

Left Derby too soon to go to Chelsea, too big a job for a rookie coach, he tried to do what he did at Derby and play the youngsters all too soon and it backfired, Norwich would've been a good gig for him.

He should go abroad and coach, all the best coaches have coached in several countries. Somewhere like Italy or Germany would be good for him, he’s a cracking young coach who was very harshly treated at Chelsea. He took over when they weren’t allowed to sign players and did really well, they had a dip in form and the new guy came in and won the champions league with his team. He can do much better than a yo-yo team like Norwich.

I think it actually showed how good the team was and Lampard wasn't getting enough from them

He didn’t get much chance of a chance to. He got them into the champions league against the odds by playing and really bringing on a lot of youngsters. There weren’t many people at the time who thought it was right that he’d been sacked.

Unfortunately their owner has a habit of pulling the trigger at weird time, winning something big doesn't guarantee staying in the job at Chelsea as a few have found out over the years.

They always seem to come up smelling of roses as well. They’re one of those clubs you’d like to see fall flat on their face, but they never do.

They're the Rangers of England, not a club I can ever take to.

It really wasn't against the odds. They still had loads of great players. He done okay, about a par, then couldn't take them forward. Tuchel is a much better manager.

I agree. Won the Champions League with Lampards team. Better coaching took them to a far higher level.
