Boris Johnson condemned for saying ‘never mind’ about cancer outcomes | The Independent

    Boris Johnson
has sparked outrage on the eve of the Conservative Party conference after saying “never mind” about cancer death rates and the recent fall in life expectancy.

Grilled about his plans for Britain’s recovery from the Covid crisis, the prime minister chose to emphasise economic growth over health measures.

Pointing to the recent growth in wages, Mr Johnson told the BBC: “I’ve given you the most important metric – never mind life expectancy, never mind cancer outcomes – look at wage growth.”
Money worship has been at the centre of Tory philosophy since Thatcherism attempted to commodify every aspect of life. Everything is about financial exchange, ergo nothing is morally sacred. Everything has its price and nothing is more important than the pursuit of money; not even death.

Pandora Papers: Questions over Tory donations by ex-Russian minister's wife - BBC News

    • A businessman whose companies donated to 34 Conservative MPs is alleged to have made millions from one of Russia's largest fraud scandals. Former oil executive Victor Fedotov is the owner of a company behind a controversial infrastructure project in the English Channel, which is currently awaiting UK government approval

Yet again, we are forgetting the humble, indigenous turnip.
To be fair a helluva lot of people voted for him in the last general election.

Watching News night at the Torrie Party conference.

Explanations of "levelling up" being offered.

Not one explanation consistent with another.

    Top comedy.

What a ****show today. Priti Fascist cutting back on protesters rights and Javid saying it’s not the states responsibility for health care in the first instance and it should fall to family and then the community first.

Community? They told us there was no such thing.

Thanks Saj, I’ve wasted 45 minutes bleeding to death while I tried to get my auntie Ethel over to apply a tourniquet and get ‘the community’ to help, instead of just phoning for an ambulance.

She's been great this week, it's a shame viewers in the rest of the UK don't get to see her show how far from reality these cretins are.

Just caught up with the British Prime Ministers interview with Channel 4 News.

Take away the "aryan Tommy Cooper"/Eton bully shtick and we are literally in the hands of a Fat Daz down the pub type who just makes up any old rubbish on whatever is topical this week.

That’s hundreds of thousands of families £20 a week worse off from today as universal credit is cut.

Edwina Currie vs Gary Neville on Good Morning Britain was unbelievable. Just astonishing. No front line Tory would go on the programme, the result being a car crash performance to the extent that she looked like plant by the opposition. Nauseating arrogance, telling people there are lots of jobs out there, get out there and retrain, and something about ‘we’re all alright up here in the Peak District only 20 minutes from Manchester.’ When Nevilles talking about people in poverty.

Deliberate adopting a tone-deaf approach. They've got their half a dozen or so stock answers pre-prepared for them and those are the answers trotted out no matter the question.
