Great to hear the Man U fans encouraging the officials with their "Come on you reds" chant

4 penalties in the first half, don’t think I’ve seen that before.

It defies belief the commentator isn’t making more of that De Gea save. It might have been hitting the bar but the athleticism to get a fingertip to it is off the charts.

Until United sort their defence, they won’t win anything major. City, Chelsea and Liverpool clear in that department imo.

Man United deservedly got beaten. They were wasting time at every opportunity and throwing themselves to the ground constantly to try and win free kicks.

    Well done the Young Boys.

Man Utd are going to become a Ronaldo show not a football team.

Zenits black players take a knee with Chelsea players, Zenits white players don’t.

Not a good look, but will resonate for the most dodgy fan base in world football.

It’s been 7 months since Lewandowski failed to score in a competitive game for Bayern.

That’s the first time Barca have lost their opening CL match since Newcastle in 1997.

Bayern have won their last 17 opening CL games with an aggregate of 45-2.

This could be the season Barcelona finish a lowly 5th outside the Champions League places. In the 90s and early 00s they were prone to the odd bad season and finishing outside the top 3.

Bournemouth had something like the 11th highest net spend in Europe over a 4/5 year period. They had very rich owners and spent a lot of money. They wasted most of it and went down.

Dyche maybe got found out in 1 game, but any Bournemouth fan would swap places with Burnley in a heartbeat. Even Eddie Howe did.
That depends, a lot of those clubs aren’t good enough to achieve any real success, therefore I’m sure their fans would rather enjoy decent football while staying up for a few seasons, than kick punt and bully their way to the odd 3 points to stay in the league by the skin of their teeth year on year. Burnley have zero plan other than to get as big a profit as possible come the end of each season.

Also - net spend is all well and good - but £150m over 5 years is nothing really when you think of what they are bringing in revenues wise. Don’t need rich owners down south to pay that money. Burnley could’ve spent that in 1 window and broke even over the same period, they chose profits over improving their squad. I’ve little doubt those sides will be swapping places come the end of the season and good riddance to them.

I think Barcelona fans had better brace themselves for a miserable few years. The debt will cripple them and the team already looks like the empty husk of what it was.

Burnley qualified for the Europa League only a couple of seasons ago. Beat Aberdeen then got knocked out by Olympiacos in the play off. First time they achieved that in 51 years.

4 years ago, and arguably with one of the lowest points totals to have done it. Never had a positive goal difference any year in the league since promotion, never scored more than 45 goals in a season. Literally a team of 6ft+ brutes.

Bournemouth have been loss making for four years in a row. If any English side is going to do a Gretna my money would be on them.

Burnley is just a small town club punching above their weight.

Good on them. Maybe if everyone in the town went to turf Moor rather than watch Man u on tv they could push on more.
