Because if stadium is half full it looks pretty full, rather than have obvious blocks of colour
Does anyone really care what it looks like? The attendance is always announced therefore how it looks has no bearing to anyone - other than those who are obsessed with football south of the border so will try and put us down, or your rivals poking fun.

I used to like this away kit from a few seasons ago but looking back I can see how some people would think it was a bit empirical

That's put a spanner in the works. Could have said before I chucked 2 purple starbursts out the window
Those are the best ones after the red as well!

Purple is a lovely colour, and I’ve loved our purple strips.

it has absolutely no place on the seats at Easter Road. Those should remain green.

Personally I'm not bothered, but I can see how it may be more attractive to sponsors & advertisers if empty seats are camouflaged in this way.

They’d surely just be interested in the actual figures no? How many people will see their adverts? How many people are tuning in to the tele? It’s not like we hide the attendances, they’ll know full well what their audience is going to be. Few multicolour seats wouldn’t change that fact unless I’m missing something.

Would certainly be good for hampden. It's pretty obvious and embarrassing the blocks of empty seats at internationals and semi finals

It actually probably makes a lot more sense financially from a maintenance perspective as well.

If you want the stadium to look smart and all the seats are the same colour, you'd have to replace them all at the same time (especially red/maroon as these colours sun-bleach quicker!).

With Minecraft seating (or Tetris for the older generation), it wouldn't matter a ****, just stick a new seat in whenever you felt like it.

It's not about attendance figures, it's about image.

If you watch the above highlights. the mass of empty green seats emphasises the sparsity of the crowd, whereas it's far less obvious where there are multicoloured seats behind the goals.

What do you think sponsors would rather be associated with?

ps. some finishing for the 1st 2 goals!

Not for me. Hibernian are extremely proudly Green and White. Other than that we should also celebrate sky blue and white for our host country of Scotland. Purple's an elitist ruling dictator colour.
    😂😂😂

That is exactly the first thing I think of when Hibs release a purple top, or when I got purple added into my Hibs tattoo. Hibs in purple, what a bunch of elitist, highfalutin show offs. While I’m at it my eyes for some reason burn whenever I look at the old crown badge. We should really get shot of they purple swastikas aswell

Yes of course, we should remember that next time we ask for a colour of kit as a group of football fans.

Multicoloured seats look absolutely bowfin in my opinion. Purple seats scattered around is making me feel nauseous. We have a stunning stadium in a magnificent colour. Why would we want to change it?

Actually in Scotland at least, as far back as the 1600s, purple was one of the most popular colours of the very lowest classes. This was due to it being the easiest/cheapest dye to produce.

(The only reason I know this is because of a source analysis I had to do for an Early Modern Scotland exam at uni)
Now your talking my language. Do you know what produces purple dye? 😉

Actually the opposite. Purple was the most difficult to manufacture therefore seen as the ruling classes colour. Elitist empire.
I can tell you that BLUE is more difficult, as a dyer it is a lot more unstable, although great fun dyeing with indigo

    Empirical?

How can items of clothing be empirical?

    Or have I been whooshed?

And I'd take any one of them apart from purple. Purple imo has empirical connotations okay. Its my opinon - imo okay.

Green and White for me. Sky Blue and white for our host country Scotland thereafter imo.
    Empirical?

    Imperial, surely?

There's been a hold up whilst they remove the purple pixels.
