I'd say it's up to the owner of the venue to set whatever requirements they like, over the bare minimum set out by law. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They're ultimately the ones responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their staff, themselves and their customers.
FWIW I think most of the tests available are totally unreliable and of negligible benefit.

If a few people take the huff at them being extra vigilant in trying to keep people safe and their business running smoothly, I don’t think they’ll worry too much about the little lost custom.

This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show QuoteAs I say, I don't think any businesses or their other customers will lose sleep over it.
Personally if it's something I want to attend (for example a gig) and they are asking for proof of vaccination/negative tests, I'll do it. The same way I would make the effort to sort travel, book accommodation or any other wee things required to enjoy these things comfortably.
Thankfully there aren't many gigs around these days that would get me wanting to do any of the above right now

One of the worst threads I've read. Whilst covid in the mass deaths state is all but over in the UK, that isn't the case in most countries. This thread on Iran is horrific.
WHO thinks its inhumane for vaccinated teens in the west and and the elderly getting a 3rd jab, when most haven't had 1

As depressing in a different way. The US who has plenty vaccine for everyone, but terrible uptake.
In Florida, 1 out of every 1,400 people are hospitalized with covid right now. 30% higher than uks peak and unfortunately its going up almost vertical

This is hardly ever drawn attention to. Hancock's 'Testing Good' mantra has stuck, as if testing is in itself very valuable even when the tests aren't that good.

The Australian capital Canberra is going into a snap one-week lockdown after recording its first case of Covid-19 in more than a year.
It will come into effect at 17:00 local time on Thursday (07:00 GMT).
The lockdown was called for the whole of the Australian Capital Territory - home to around 400,000 people - because authorities do not know how the infected person caught the virus.
Residents will only be able to leave home for essential reasons.

I can't believe they're not rioting in the streets about this over there.

Israeli scientist Eran Segal:
(Very) Preliminary results from Israel (to be taken as such) suggest effectiveness for the third booster in 60 y/o and above in preventing infections
Current estimate is 2-fold reduction compared to 60 y/o vaccinated with two doses. Estimate will likely change in the coming days

I was in 3 pubs yesterday and all of them were still enforcing 1 metre distancing, 2 allowed service at the bar, 1 was table service only, you couldn't stand at the bar in any and all required masks when not seated. The pubs were the Guildford, Cold Town House and the Diggers.
We also had lunch in Dishoom and whilst we still needed to wear masks when not seated the distancing was far less strict. It was busy, I'd say almost every table was full and there was no way there was a metre between every table.
Corn Exchange for a comedy gig at night. Test results checked when we went in, unallocated seating with no distancing at all, masks on throughout.
All in all I thought it was fine. It's not normal and really not all that close to normal in some pubs but it was better than a couple of months ago.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017. Probably robbed in other years

What would be the script with going to mainland Spain - specifically Barcelona just now?
If I’m double vaxxed, what tests etc would I need? Is there a place where all this information is readily available? I had a quick look on the gov website thinking it would have a breakdown but it either doesn’t or I can’t find it.

I enjoyed it, the rules didn't feel too restrictive. It's just I'm so used to that pub being absolutely rammed with a crowds all around the bar and in the middle of the floor, everyone seated at tables made it still feel a bit less normal.
