Just got pulled up in my local for not doing test and protect. Not got a problem with it but is this still a rule? They’re still taking orders at the table instead of going to the bar, although I think that it’s the chain that’s decided that.
Still have to use test and protect mate when going into hospitality.

Only change in my local is I have to get off my butt and go get my beer.... they're not allowing 'vertical drinking ' at the bar to help protect the bar staff.

    Happy Freedom Day!

Sturgeon on STV news saying children have to wear masks because they are no vaccinated and can't rule out any future restrictions.

I don't have any issue with Sturgeon etc saying they can't rule out future restrictions. It's preferable to categorically ruling them out and then having to backtrack.

No one can predict the future and it would be foolish in the extreme to declare that there will never be a reintroduction of more impactful restrictions.

Was watching CNN and some of the American States have more cases per 100000 than Mexico. Mexico on red list so why is US not on red list. Also there are anti vaxers in the US with some states at less than 50 uptake of vaccinations.

Florida is a state with a major problem and I am sure there are many Brits on holiday there. They will not have to isolate in a hotel when they come home you do if you Come back from Mexico. 🤔

Doubt there will be many Brits on holiday in Florida as you cannot enter the USA if you have been in the UK within the last 14 days. Haven't been able to since March 2020.

There’ll be next to no Brits in the US, they’re not allowing us in.

We would let folk in from Florida to be fair!

Although Americans don’t tend to travel abroad like most other nationalities so they’ll probably keep themselves to themselves largely.

You are correct that they don't travel as much as Brits for example, by percentage of population, but there are still millions of Americans who would typically visit the UK in a normal year.

Red list is more about variants, the US is pretty much all delta, hence India coming of red as its all delta. US has good genomic sequencing where as Mexico has none.

2nd dose yesterday. Felt fine bar the usual heavy arm when I hit the hay last night. Woke up maybe less than an hour later feeling dodgy, then again a few hours later feeling like I had the flu.

Already a fair bit better now so hopefully that’s the end of it. And the short burst of feeling a bit minging is definitely outweighed and then some by the satisfaction of now being double vaxed.

My son got his second on sat afternoon, felt dodgy on sun but not too bad, sun night spiked a temp and yesterday couldnt get out of bed. Says its like hes got the virus again. Managing to work today but is struggling. He had covid just over 6 weeks ago a week after his first jag. Hes 24, fit as a fiddle, strapping 6 footer and I think his body is just in overdrive with antibodies or something. His partner got vaxed on the same days, had covid at the same time and is totally fine.

Hes done a lateral flow which was neg

I received a test today from what appears to be a mobile number. Saying I have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive and to book an at home test. I think the text looks fishy as surely would come from test and protect. Anybody any advice. Thanks

Yes it is. Two of the kids I coach visited London this summer on their holidays yet I can't go home and see my parents and come back here to work.

Fully vaccinated and with a work visa but nope. Not allowed.

My colleague is stuck in the UK and his girlfriend has been there for months because she can enter the UK and work His UK home. Very frustrating situation.

Over 40% of them now have passports. I think it was about 15% in the 90's but now they need them to travel to Canada, Mexico and all the Caribbean places that didn't previously require one.
