It's shocking that people on here trying to defend him. His behaviour is deplorable. If he hadn't played briefly for Hibs, I doubt people would be treating this so lightly.
A 30 year old asking a 16 year old for pics? Horrible.
I'm shocked Celtic aren't trying to move him on.

Is an adult getting pics from a 16 year old actually legal? Thought it was 18 for things like that?

History is littered with examples of what was legal but not necessarily palatable. John Knox, at the age of 54, married his second wife when she was a child who may have been as old as 15, likely 14. Even our present PM is 14 years senior to his present wife.
Whether we like it or not the age of consent in the UK is 16 and there is no legal definition of what is a suitable age difference between “adults”. What LG did seems a bit creepy but it’s legal.Last edited by CentreLine; 26-07-2021 at 06:53 AM.

Well maybe: the police may have just concluded that there is little or no chance of a conviction. Perhaps the evidence is too ambiguous to stand up in court, despite most observers seeming to be fairly convinced about LG’s intentions.

Set aside all the online stuff. I dont want him at Hibs. I think we have a great group right now and he's just not what we need. imo.

I’m not about to defend LG but let’s not make stuff up in order to promote an agenda.

Ok thanks for the clarification. I’m not making up anything or pursuing an agenda here… I think we should all be very cautious when commenting on legal matters.

I hear Boris has some skills in touch rugby... but only if you ignore the actual rules and need a fat slob to barge into some small kids to win the ball.
Knox might just be a bit problematical with his (alleged) views on Catholics.
Any 1970s TV entertainers are definitely a no-go area, before somebody suggests one...

The moment he signed a new deal at Celtic was the moment I didn’t want to see LG in a hibs top again. He had the chance to move on and didn’t. Since then all this has come out and although no “illegal behaviour” what he done is simply disgusting and shouldn’t be anywhere near hibs or IMO any football club. Football thrives on fans and kids loving the game and idolising players, when players try to use it to their advantage in ways that he did, it’s just wrong.
Don’t want him as a footballer, don’t want him as a person.

Where do you stand on Martin Boyle playing for Hibs after being found guilty of driving when three times the alcohol limit?

The excuse making for Boyle back then was incredible. If it had been a player that we see as being a bit gash he’s have been hounded out the door.

What this lassie has posted on her social media pages is up to her. It’s not up to her. She doesn’t get the choice of someone almost double her age creeping on her.
It’s the same argument as someone harassed on the way home from the pub being judged to be “asking for it” because they’ve worn a short skirt.

Celtic player booed by Celtic fans. Celtic's problem not ours.
