Whilst extremely happy that England have lost on penalties, we should compliment them on getting so far. They've got some great players and will get better.
No thanks, hope they get pumped every time they play. Arrogant tossers

Just had a look on Twitter and although the majority of messages to Saka, Rashford and Sancho are supportive, there’s already some amount of absolutely horrendous abuse. It’s disgusting.

All the praise Southgate has got has to be cancelled out with these subs and sending young laddies out there to take the pens. Shame 😀

Southgate hung the young lads out to dry.

It's their own stupid fault. Just do a normal penalty with a normal run up, none of those stupid little short steps and little pauses to try and fool the keeper. Pick a corner, left or right and concentrate on hitting it, just like Kane did. Take a leaf out of Scotland's book. 100% record in competitive penalty shoot outs, 10 penalties taken, 10 scored and not a single silly run up.
To be fair Jorginho is potentially the best penalty taker in world football and he has the strangest run up there is. I’m not sure there’s anything wrong with the run ups, they were just **** pens.

Easiest route to the final in history and still ****ed it 🤣🤣🤣

If this match of players and Manager don't win a major tournament, I don't think that they ever will.

I feel for the English hibbys on here, but the better team won it. England getting that goal so early was probably the worst thing that happened for them. They didn’t know what to do and just shat it and Italy took control of the game. They must be absolutely gutted with the way they performed as they weren’t a threat after the goal.

    United we stand here....

It was the best save in the shoot out

Quite looking forward to heading down to England for my holiday tommorow, don't know if it is wise to let my laddie take his Italy strip though

Or he picked the best penalty takers regardless of age? England over acheived by reaching the final. Well done to them. No way were they going to overcome Italy tonight.

At least theirs were on target, Rashford missing the goals was the most unforgivable

And he missed his too didn't he? Maybe I'm just too old school. I just think you look really stupid with one of those run ups if you miss. For me it is akin to Cummings and his failed Panenka in normal time in the cup semi v Dundee United.

I think that was the chance for this England team.

Italy will improve come the WC, France will be better, Argentina, Brazil et al will be there.

I could be wrong but I don't think they will get a better chance than that to win a major tournament. We've seen it before with Belgium, Portugal in the late 90s and 00s, Brazil in the 80s. They maybe next times but you don't get too many shots at it.

England bottle it when it matters at a major tournament.
