I think Scotland will struggle against them.
It doesn’t matter as we will win the Euro’s.

Thought Croatia were awful there. Didn’t really show any intent. Hopeful we can take something from them.

No danger Croatia are scoring a goal here.
IMO Croatia expected nothing from this game and see this as a two game group. If Scotland can win tomorrow, I think we could get something from the match against the British Empire and get through. Scotland have nothing to fear from what we saw today ... if we can crock those boys Stearling and Cane

Both teams were very good technically but England had more pace and carried a goal threat. I genuinely think Scotland will struggle against both of them but it’s football so just never know.

Why wouldn't I watch the Euros, being a football fan as I am? Who will we get for England vs Scotland game? Will that be a case of not being forced to watch as well? Cool, guess I don't need to pay TV license then.

Well done England. Just a pity they couldn’t have won by more. I can’t see any team conceding a load of goals in our group so goal difference could be crucial to Scotland’s chances of going through. I saw nothing there to suggest we can’t get through this group though.

Is the English commentary really anymore bias than Scottish?
    There is bias, naturally.

They are broadcasting to a UK audience though whilst acting like it’s an only an English audience. We get the scraps of a Scottish commentary team, broadcasting only to Scotland and only in games involving Scotland.

Imagine it was the other way round and England got Scotland’s commentary teams apart from England games.

We spend a whole year watching Scottish football with Scottish commentary teams, love them or hate them, then as soon as a tournament comes along we get Englands coverage. It just wouldn’t be tolerated the other way round.

Yeah get the impression Croatia sort of aren't bothered about this game at all. They are probably targeting 6 points from us and the Czechs

If that was the case then their arrogance could well come back to bite them. I think the truth is they just aren’t as good as they were a few years back.

Disagree. There are loathsome individuals in there no doubt. Which football support doesn't have them. The fact that way more England fans applauded their team taking the knee than those that booed it shows they are not all bad, no where near it.

I didn’t see it like that, I just thought they weren’t very good. They’re nowhere near the team they were and struggled in their last nations league campaign as well.

I thought England played well and thoroughly deserved a win against a pretty toothless Croatia side. To be fair, they know they will get harder tests than that, and they are a relatively young team with some talented players who do seem to work well together unlike some England teams of the past. I think it'll be a really hard game for us down there, but we do need to take the game to them and try and put them on the back foot, I don't think Croatia really did that at all. Easier said than done I suppose, but I just think that sitting in against them just isn't going to work. Just my opinion though.

We probably want England to win every game (other than us) and Croatia and Czech to draw. With that in mind, not a bad result today.

I always take the tartan tinted glasses off to try and maintain a bit fairness to any England performances. Reluctantly admit, there have been some fine entertaining players and performances in the past. Today I was very underwhelmed by that. “England were fantastic” - Shearer and the rest of them.??! Sorry, maybe it’s just me but that was absolutely bang average against a Croatian side who were technically still excellent in bits but totally disinterested in exerting themselves.

Yep think you are right wasn't sure what result I wanted when watching it. Tomorrow is enormous for Scotland get a win and we are in a very good position. Second in our group is probably better than being first.

Look at sides like Italy and Germany over the years. Spain 2010. Tournaments are about winning. England done that today against a tough opponent.

Italy historically couldn't care less about the groups as long as they get through. Tournament begins in the knockouts.

To be fair I was basing that on us finishing first being highly unlikely rather than worrying about who we’ll face after

Just like us they have a few backsides in their support. And just like us the vast majority are decent football fans.
So I’d say he was wrong.

Yep you’ve completely missed the point of my comment. It was the “England were fantastic today” type quote back in the studio. And there were other similar ones. Yes.. everyone knows getting the win is important for any of the bigger countries and they grow into the tournament

I just didn’t agree with the high praise.

I’m just saying the venn diagram of the market for pie and chips in resorts in Europe and English national team supporters is a perfect circle.

Very nice of UEFA to give England an extra days rest over Scotland, and no travel involved either

England get to play all their group games at home which shouldn’t happen. I think I’m right in saying their the only team to win the World Cup playing all their games at the same stadium.

Czech Republic and Croatia having to play two teams at their home stadium probably equally unfair but that’s just the way it is I suppose.

Yes. as the likely strongest team, I hope they win both their matches … then we get through if we do what we have to do, as it’s in our hands then.
