Fair enough, i hadnt seen that before. Still looks ***** and unofficial and nothing to do with Hibs to me, but obviously people made the same mistake 70 years ago too 😁
The thistle was used ‘officially’ on our strips in the past. Check out the link to the thread I posted info there about it 👍🏻

Would you have been ok with a Saltire? That's a genuine question, not sarcastic or arsey.
When playing in Europe, yeah i could see the point of that, think it would look pretty cool.

Ive never seen a Hibs top with a thistle on it, but if you associate that with Hibs, then thats your call 👍

Didnt think this would be as thorny a subject, but obviously loads of people have for years seen a thistle motif and thought, yeah, thats Hibs, thats a Hibs thistle, the Edinburgh Jags. Im obviously the odd one out.

Anyway, loads of people like the strip, so job done.

A little bit from the EN reporter also. For those who maybe interested

🧐 Seen a few Hibs fans wondering about the relevance of the thistle on the new home top. Not 100% sure but it could be a nod to a logo the club used in the 50s & 60s (particularly for Euro games); possibly in an effort to embrace a Scottish identity as well as their Irish roots? https://t.co/W0Z9EMUNXm

Funny enough I asked that as well. That or a rampant lion but I don't think they are Irish enough to represent our history 🙄

We're called Hibernian and have a green strip and badge with a Harp. That's enough Irish for me as a Scotsman, living in Scotland and supporting a Scottish football club.

The thistle is a nice touch, especially as we fly the Scottish flag in Europe this season.

Nice touch by the club to reveal the new strip on what would have been Prince Phillip’s 100th birthday.

I’m very much a traditionalist with regards to strips
I’ll leave judgement until I actually see it, but it looks like a Hibs strip with a tattoo on it😳

Bizarre we’ve not actually seen a picture of the full kit as of yet?

My laddie loves it, he says it's Lit which is apparently really good, he also loves how the map of Edinburgh is on it, another to add to his collection

Perhaps not sure when the Journo tweeted it and when the post on here went up. One thing about the EN boy is he does do alot of Homework on Hibs, and Scottish football. You could be correct though 😁

I think he’d replied to someone earlier with the information before the other tweets were up. Much more likely that whoever posted on here has seen it on his Twitter.

He said it was never official, and ive never seen a pic with it on the strip, but im happy to be corrected if there was one.

Plus, if people are having to try this hard to demonstrate a supposed link, then i would suggest that link is flimsy.

Anyway, im clearly in the minority, so happy to accept that, and obviously hope its a big seller for Hibs 👍

I like it a lot. As for the thistle I think we on here are putting more thought into it than those who designed the shirt - probably just an obligation maybe to stick something on the back rather than a statement of sorts.
Expect this will be a very popular strip and should sell well.

Exactly. You can stick all these ‘at home’ shots when none of them show the actual full kit.
