Funny you should say that I’ve long held the view there’s a direct correlation between good strips snd a good team.

It’s completely irrational and I’m sure doesn’t stand up to much scrutiny however I don’t care, it’s my theory and I’m sticking with it.

Hibs skol cup winning side - great strip
Hibs Scottish cup winning side - great strip
Hibs beating hearts 6-2 - great strip
Arguably greatest strip of all time- Germany Italia 90 winners.
Brazil- constantly class strips

On the flip side to that:-

Hibs yellow monstrosity we had under Mixu- never won a game in it I don’t think.
Nike Hibs strip we were relegated in- horrible
First season in the championship- pub team strip.

That’s just a few examples, sure there are more.

Not interested in counter arguments, I know I’m right and that’s the end of it.

That horrible faded diamond Macron thing was a monstrosity. On the flip side our first Macron strip after promotion was outstanding. Similar to the seasons.

No joma have made a couple of nice tops like the hoffenhiem top is a beauty. Just that concept just doesn't look good for a hibs kit in my opinion.

I thought yesterday because that's when I think the Joma contract started but I am not sure. Hopefully today.

Someone mentioned a guy in the shop saying stock wont be in until the end of the month so (hopefully not) we might not get a look until nearer then. Usually kits are revealed and put on sale simultaneously so no stock equals no reveal.

The macron one from a couple years back?

I thought it was okay, wasn’t terrible but not great. If there was a popping button collar it would have been a lot better.

the home top for the season just finished was by far the best home top macron produced IMO, but the away was pretty rank.

All great strips no doubt but for me the best looking Hibs kits ever were produced by Umbro in the mid 80s. They were gorgeous kits on a struggling team.

This in the most part has been the view I’ve came to adopt too. But not whole heartedly, couple examples for you would be: 01/02 purple away. Outstanding kit, my personal favourite but one eventual horrendous season. On the other hand, 07 league cup winners kit, great team, great success, when do you ever see or hear about that kit though? 2014 Nike kit usually divides opinions but I always held it high and above many others we’ve came to see, pity the team wearing it couldn’t emulate its class. Sure we won in that yellow “sunshine” top under Mixu once away at New Douglas Park

Adidas was the dream. Umbro was always my realistic preference. Think we may have missed a trick or two not signing with them but we’ll never know what offers were there at the time. For one of the self confessed kit snobs on here I’m actually quite optimistic and excited re this Joma deal.

The best strips we have had in my time as a Hibby are for me the Bukta late 70s, iconic. The Umbro 80s, the Skol cup top, the Sauzee/Latapy/Zitelli, the 2016 for obvious reasons. All in my opinion obviously, but anyone who says otherwise is wrong!!
PS I am way too old and fat to now wear strios but look forward to a new one coming out every year

Itll be a while off. Season ticket holders were promised a ticket to the launch. Even if that now can't happen, I'd imagine they will at least inform us before the launch
