Really liked Docherty and chipped in with goals. Was sad to see him go down south
He was good. Just helped Hull to promotion and a contender for their player of the season.

    Would 100% take Kennedy.
Did we not have him a few years back on loan from Everton I think

Watching an abject Killie side last night I recalled some on here saying we should go for Kabamba or Brophy!!! I've always quite liked Kiltie & McKenzie but I don't think they're what we need right now. TBF to Ross, I think most people approved of his signings & many of them, Gogic & Cadden in particular, were touted on here long before arrival. Most people also approved of Murphy, Nisbet, Magennis and Irvine. Ironically, probably the most successful has been the least heralded, Paul McGinn. I think the point I'm trying to make is we tend to notice players doing something well or having a good game for another team. When they come to us & are subjected to more regular scrutiny, the allure often fades. Kerr & Campbell fit the profile of players we are in market for but personally I remain to be convinced about the latter. I think the young lad Hamilton, at Hamilton, is a real talent & as its been a while since we signed a St M player, I'd go for Cammy MacPherson. Unlike our midfield he actually shoots!

A very good shout Brog, terrific young player with bags of room to develop - sadly he's St. Mirren's prize asset and he would not be cheap. A McGinn type deal however may change their opinion.

He will be a terrific player

Ignoring any players leaving for now...what do people think we need to add?

I’d fancy a new spine. A commanding centre midfielder and another who can unlock defences (unsure if Scott Allan will ever get back to his best)

Wouldn’t mind a new CB as well, Jason Kerr would be my shout.

The above is obviously unlikely until we sell a few which will no doubt happen.
100% our priority should be a centre back and some real creative quality in midfield. I'd be letting Wright / Maginnes away to free up wages if necessary, can't see them really making the grade long term. Mate of mine was saying Durmus would be a good signing - would have to agree.

Highly rated at St Mirren, can only assume for now that the injuries he had have affected him more than we anticipated. Like you say though, a good pre season could hopefully see him come to life a bit more.

Magennis is here on a 5 year deal and going nowhere anytime soon.

Ross has invested a lot in him. I would say that he's been at Hibs since September and offered very little. He must have been match fit for many months so not sure a pre-season will make any difference.

Think there's an element of Newell under Hecky - playing out of position. He's clearly better suited to playing centrally.

Good friend who is a st Mirren season ticket holder rates Magennis very highly, says he's a central midfielder first and foremost.

Got high hopes for him next season.

I want every Hibs player to succeed, but I'm afraid I'm just not seeing it with Magennis, and I'm really unsure what he brings to the side. Humble pie is always oven-ready though.

Yes, to be fair it's not often he's played in that central role. He has to earn the right though and show he's better than the competition. Like you guys, I'm hopeful he will establish himself, but I can't say he done much to show that he will thus far. Time is on his side though, next season will be a big one for him.

What would you do if Wright and Magennis didn't want to go? Additionally Ross paid good money for Magennis a player he knows well. He will be expecting him to come good next season. Time will tell, but too soon to bin even after an admittedly pedestrian start.

Magennis has only played left mid because we’ve had a severe lack of them and he’s been coming back from injury and lacking confidence.

By all accounts the players think he’s a bit of a tank and his best football was played centrally and going by Ross’ description that’s where he will play.

A good pre season and staying free of injury and he’ll show he’s a good signing

Aye I think there’s more to come from magennis but has to be through the middle, he’s not a left midfielder.

He certainly won’t be getting sold 1 year into a 4/5 year contact

I agree with that. He has begun to move on from the bad injury and built himself up in the gym. I reckon he will be ready to step it up next season and use that new found power and if he combines that with the ability Ross believes he has will win us over.

How would that sideways move benefit Boyle?
He is looking for a pay day i.e 3 year contract with an English Championship team with a nice fat signing on fee etc not a match up with Deadly Dave and Grampa Broony at the freezerdome for an extra few quid a week and free air travel to Atlanta.
    Never happening.
