Who are Colonel Mustard and the Dijon 5? They seem to be on every festival line up I’ve seen recently.

They’re a novelty band from Glasgow. Big following. I fluctuate between finding them funny and extremely annoying.

Got tickets for Inhaler at The Barras in October. Really enjoying their debut album. Surprised they had t sold out, especially at £15 a ticket.

Just booked for the Mackenzies/Filthy Tongues at the Barrowland.

They were the last bands I saw pre-COVID.

We've got Black Stone Cherry at the Usher Hall in September, delayed from last year, as yet we still don't know about indoor events and how many people will be allowed to be there, fingers crossed.

Im supposed to fly to sheffield for a festival in October. I thought those attending might have to show a negative test of something (its quite a small venue & pretty sweaty in certain rooms, going on previous years). Now it looks like there might be no restrictions Im having second thoughts. The line ups amazing though so Im not counting anything out yet.

some of the line up : 96 Back (Live) / Alex Mclean / Andy Stott (Live) / Anz / AYA (Live) / Aurora Halal / Batu / Ben UFO / Diessa / Displace / Gabber Modus Operandi (3D) / Helena Hauff / Hyperdub Showcase / Ifeoluwa / India Jordan / Joy Orbison / Juliana Huxtable / Kode 9 / Konx-Om-Pax / Loraine James (Live) / Lo Shea / Mark Fell / Midland / Minsky Rock (Live) / Nkisi (3D) / Nyege Nyege Showcase (3D) / Pattern + Push / Phatworld (3D Live) / Rian Treanor / SHERELLE / Skee Mask / Tekkers / Tim Reaper / The Beatriarchy / VTSS (Live) / Winston Hazel / Wub Club / Yes No Wave Music

Just bought tickets for Arab Strap in Dunfermline on 3rd September.

I got emotional just seeing Pat Nevin and Val McDermid at the Book Festival. I'll be a blubbering wreck getting some live music.

Maximo Park next week at Liquid Room, I'd completely forgotten about it.

I assume it's same rules as nightclubs in terms of masks and drinking/dancing

Decided that I'd better check all the gigs I've tickets for that have either been re-arranged from last year or that I'd bought thinking there was little chance of them going ahead but desperate to go to anything. So, before the end of 2021 I've got:

Black Midi, Fontaines DC, Mogwai, Sleaford Mods and Black Country, New Road

    January to March 2022 is:

Peter Hook, Idles, Dry Cleaning and Yard Act

Unfortunately all the Friday and Saturday gigs have been rearranged for midweek. Urg.

Just had an email saying that masks to be worn unless drinking at Liquid Rooms on Wednesday.

Reckon the bar will be busy then.

Not sure if I'm looking forward to it or not 😬

Edit: really enjoyed it. Not that busy and probably 50/50 in terms o those wearing a mask and those standing with a pint and not. Good atmosphere - great to listen to live music again.

    Hectic few months coming up…

Have tickets for Tom Clarke of The Enemy next week but think I’m going to have to give that a miss

Transmit next Saturday, not going all day as the line up is poor. Heading later on for Primal Scream and Liam Gallagher so it’ll be pints in Glasgow before that

‘An evening with’ Rick Witter from Shed 7 and Clint Boon at Dr Bells 29th September

DMA’s at the Corn Exchange October 19th

Booze & Glory at Bannermans, 21st November

Shed 7 at the Barras on 27th November, same day as EH6 Fest though so may opt for that instead

Libertines at Usher Hall, 1st December, same night we’re at home to the Huns 😩

I 've got a ticket for the specials at the usher hall on Tuesday and I'm buzzing. It's the same feeling I had in the days leading up to my first gig as a teenager.

Arab Strap were excellent with some properly unexpected songs in the setlist.

Specials at The Barras last night were brilliant. Felt amazing to be at a gig again and it was a very sweaty, bonkers mosh pit.

I’ve 2 tickets for tonight’s gig at The Usher Hall. Happy to sell well below face value if anyone fancies it.

The Specials at the Usher Hall last night was bouncing. First gig for me since COVID hit and it was great. Done all the classics mixed in with their new album and a great version of Marley’s Get up Stand up. Never got to sleep til 3am cos I was buzzing so much from it. Does mean today at work is going to be a long day. Well worth it though.

On seeing this post I had a squint on wikipedia to see what the current-line up is. Crikey!

Going to John Grant tomorrow. Info we got was masks on unless eating, drinking or dancing and proof of negative rest or vsx status. Was it the same for you? How did they check status?
