The authorities have made a calamity of this , not that its a surprise. Why have numbers been worked out to isolate single people and not pairs/family bubbles for example. This would allow better use of the space and an increased amount of tickets

We have the scenario of someone who never travels to away games being picked out in the ballot. Laughable
What about groups or families who can't for whatever reason attend away matches but buy a significant amount of season tickets for Easter Road? They must be entitled to a fair crack of the whip?

The club have done this the fairest way possible in my opinion, they have been put in a ridiculous position where they are going to piss off 99% of the support whatever they do.

Take out kids and a lot of more elderly supporters plus the many who will prefer to watch the final in company and you might find there is a lot less in this ballot than it might appear.
Agree with this. There is part of me thinks it’d be better just watching it at home but, equally, I don’t think I could not enter the ballot.

You don't think that those who go every week should be recognised. That is loyalty which should be a two way street
    In this instance, no - i don’t.

It’s a cup final. Ordinarily we’d have 20-odd thousand going, it’s something every season ticket holder would be going to.

It’s great folk are loyal, not everyone’s able to go to every single game and some people choose not to, they’re not any less loyal than the person who goes everywhere.

If I somehow end up with a ticket I'd happily give it to someone on here. Already got plans for the game. The thought of being in a deserted Hampden watching it without my mates just isn't for me.

Season ticket ballot after 60 given to players and staff.

I would be happy if the club gave some of the remaining tickets to Season Ticket holders that work in the NHS or any of the Emergency Services.

Not really over regular season ticket holders, no.

Those people are fortunate to be able to do so, sacrifices get made too I’m sure but it doesn’t mark people out as the best or most loyal fans in the way you think it does.

No doubt the ones that have been at home games this season will be given tickets. That's fair huh

You reckon someone who chooses not to go is as loyal as someone who goes every week. Gies peace

Still unclear what happens if a child's ST is drawn.

Only two realistic options I can think of:

    - Don't assign tickets to kids at all (i.e. if a child's ST is drawn then it's discarded and another is drawn instead – seems harsh)
    - If a child's ST is drawn, an adult from their group is assigned a ticket as well

No doubt some will see the second option as unfair since a group is getting two tickets in one go, but to me it seems a lot less unfair than just saying 'no kids at all get to go'.

    Really difficult situation for Hibs.
I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same as the snooker and excluded anyone under the age of 18.

  15. #1484
I for one won’t be entering the ballot couldn’t take a ticket and leave my son in the house.

Depends why they choose not to go - maybe they’ve got family commitments, financial pressures.

Maybe that person commits a load of their spare time to do stuff for the club or its fans.

That's the problem I alluded to. With no disrespect intended to Ozy all kinds of rumours will do the rounds now.

Just come out and say 5% or 10% are going to hospitality. That's 12 or 24 tickets. People might not be happy but they know the facts. As it is we will now hear that someone has a cousin who went out on a date with a guy who works in an office in Leith and he wa son his lunch when he overheard the wife of someone who has a hospitality ST say they were definitely getting 99% of the available tickets. That will then become a fact.
Genuinely told my cousin to shut up about that. Ffs

Zero blame towards the club, 100% of the blame towards the authorities. I just hope it makes all boards wake up and realise they will have to be militant in order to get full crowds back immediately from the start of next season, no jumping through hoops to earn pathetic incremental increases of 500 every other week.

The game is only a week away, the club need to keep it simple.

Also, we have an interim chief executive? Would’ve been nice for the club to mention this before

Pretty much this. No win situation and could probably have done without the hassle it is likely to cause.

    Yep, I suspect you're right. 1 in 40 then

The last time I was in a ballot for Hibs tickets was yonks ago, it was for a cup game against Cowdenbeath in 1993 I think. Anyway, I got a ticket for that one so hopefully I haven't used up all my luck!

I wonder if there will be a separate ballot for the wheelchair section.
I would email the SFA regarding that.

Maybe something that has been overlooked and you may land lucky.

The only way a child ticket is drawn is if the holder or parent applied.
There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

Same way all the loyalty points discussions went.

That scheme might have stood a chance if it hadn’t been turned into an ‘I’m the best fan ever and deserve to be recognised and rewarded forever for it’ scheme instead.

Imagine genuinely believing you have more of a right to a ticket cos you’ve got an away season ticket. Away games attended this season? None. What’s it left you out of pocket? Nowt.

Plus, even in a normal season an away season ticket makes Hibs nae money.

    It’s laughable really.

Surely the AST scheme already rewards your loyalty by giving you priority for away tickets in normal circumstances at no extra cost. Do you really think it's fair to exclude all other season ticket holders for the benefit of a privileged few?
