Still unclear what happens if a child's ST is drawn.

Only two realistic options I can think of:

    - Don't assign tickets to kids at all (i.e. if a child's ST is drawn then it's discarded and another is drawn instead – seems harsh)
    - If a child's ST is drawn, an adult from their group is assigned a ticket as well

No doubt some will see the second option as unfair since a group is getting two tickets in one go, but to me it seems a lot less unfair than just saying 'no kids at all get to go'.

    Really difficult situation for Hibs.
From my interpretation, it won’t be a free for all. You’ll be invited to apply for the ballot if you want to go, then when all interest has been registered the ballot will take place? Could be way off though.

The child may not be eligible as they have said they will inform those eligible.

I wonder how many 'a proportion' is?

I'm not really bothered but it seems unnecessarily vague, especially when they have give an exact number on tickets being allocated to players, and is only going to lead to speculation that further fuels the bickering.
A proportion of how many corporate STH v all STH?

Yeah but then you still have exactly the same problem, assuming there are kids registered for the ballot.

If there is a separate ballot for a proportion of hospitality why is there not also a separate ballot for a proportion of tickets to go to away season ticket holders?

We have the scenario of someone who never travels to away games being picked out in the ballot. Laughable

5 pairs available in the corporate ballot is what I was told by someone who asked.
If that's correct then the reason Hibs didn't initially specify it may be to avoid pissing off hospitality STs with a low number, rather than pissing off everyone else with a high number.

I mean I think we will apply to the ballot. So if I want to have a chance to go, I’ll put my name forward. If you don’t then you won’t put your name forward if that makes sense?

That is what the Club said, that you have to apply to be in the ballot

It’s not laughable, it’s a crap situation with almost no way of keeping everyone happy.

A ballot of AST holders could pull out folk who got one first time this season and have never been to an away game, or someone who’s been to away games for a season ahead of someone who’s never missed a game in their life.

No fans are more special than others, I think a small number for hospitality, a good proportion for players and staff, and ballot for the season ticket holders is reasonable. i think this is pretty much the fairest way to do it.

    That’s quite a jump
That's the problem I alluded to. With no disrespect intended to Ozy all kinds of rumours will do the rounds now.

Just come out and say 5% or 10% are going to hospitality. That's 12 or 24 tickets. People might not be happy but they know the facts. As it is we will now hear that someone has a cousin who went out on a date with a guy who works in an office in Leith and he wa son his lunch when he overheard the wife of someone who has a hospitality ST say they were definitely getting 99% of the available tickets. That will then become a fact.

We have the scenario of all season ticketholders being treated the same and having equal chance in the ballot. Fair.

I've a feeling the further information to come out will be that you apply for a place in the ballot, it's non transferable and you state that you are able and willing to attend the game. Which would be fair.
    I'd imagine over 18s only.

So what are the chances of your name coming out if you're a regular season ticket holder? About 1 in 50 maybe?

I think folk need to give the club a break here and focus on enjoying the final. This is an absolutely thankless task for them and they’ve tried to find a happy medium without over implicating it for them too much.
Personally I don’t wanna sit on my own at the cup final so I’ll enjoy the game with my mates and a beer.

Good luck to those in the ballot but let’s give the club a break here in what was a no win situation.

The wording seems to indicate that the club are embarrassed by the amount that are going to corporate. Ordinary season ticket holders getting shafted again.

You got all that from the clubs statement.

Yes, that's how I think it will work. But what happens when a parent and their 8-year-old child both want to go, so both apply for the ballot, but only the child is drawn out? The kid can't go by themselves, so Hibs either have to assign two tickets or none.

You don't think that those who go every week should be recognised. That is loyalty which should be a two way street

I think it will be a bit better than that as not everyone will enter the ballot.

I've spoken to a few people in the last couple of days who have stated they would rather watch in the pub/with friends than socially distanced in a near empty Hampden. I also think under 18s or maybe 16s will be ineligible to enter.

As an AST holder I’m happy with this ballot - I don’t feel more entitled to a ticket over someone else just because I can afford to go to more away games than them. Fairest way to do it IMO.

Take out kids and a lot of more elderly supporters plus the many who will prefer to watch the final in company and you might find there is a lot less in this ballot than it might appear.

No doubt the ones that have been at home games this season will be given tickets. That's fair huh

Hopefully there will be some contingency in case people are required to isolate over the game… something like inform the club who’ll then draw another name and contact them.
