This morning additional vaccine is being rushed to Bolton to tackle a spike of the Indian variant. This looks to be a strategy for managing outbreaks.
That's not a strategy, it's a reactive tactic devised last night. Much of what we're seeing is being made up on the hoof.

Wont make any difference though going by the logic used by many just now.

We won’t know how the vaccines will stand up against new variants.
I think local lockdowns might be likely in the next few months but i can't imagine another national lockdown. Who knows though?

At the SG the decision or both? But you're right, if you didn't laugh you'd cry.

Portugal not letting in holiday makers until 30th May, champions league final in Porto could be in doubt

If it had to be moved to allow spectators to attend the obvious country must be England

They don't have Mystic Meg on the advisory panel. Plans to attack/isolate spiking areas has been around for a while now (maybe Glasgow next?) so it's not a knee jerk reaction. Predicting where variants will strike is impossible but if you have a better plan why not share it?

Yep, but England was already the obvious place before they moved it to Portugal, so it's anybody's guess what they'll do.

As it stands seemingly the fans have to fly in and out on the same day, and kept in a secure area

I'm interested to know what is the available space

I've read sections were released but I've not read anywhere we were given the whole stand - they should justify the decision

Would asking for 2k at 1.5m distance indicate we had the whole stand?

This has not been explained very well, has it?
Was the SFA 2000 fans proposal just for the main stand for example. If so, why? Uefa are not reconfiguring the whole stadium are they, it's just a case of putting up some credit banners etc.
Surely it's not going to be 300 fans spread out at the ends behind the goals.

Imagine being one of the absurdly small number lucky enough to get a ticket and ending up low down behind the goal, one of the worst views in Scottish football.

No they aren't. We will all be vaccinated by autumn.
....and by all accounts needing a covid booster jag along with the usual Flu one.

Once you start vaccinating you need ti keep topping up

I would accept that option if I was lucky enough to be there

Add in the fact that there will be 12,000 people at Hampden in four weeks time, regardless of case numbers, and it's quite obvious that none of the logic stands up to being 'guided by the science'.

UEFA tried to blackmail the German Football Association into allowing fans into the Allianz Arena but the Germans told them to ram it... while here in Scotland the authorities gave in. At no point since that decision being taken, all the way through the various Covid waves, has anyone questioned those numbers or given any hint that they will be cut in the event of a new wave/variant of Covid.

I'm sure we would all have been a bit more understanding if there had been consistency shown in any of this but neither the SFA nor the SG have come out of this with their integrity intact.

Of course. It's where I was in 2016 and it's a spectacular understatement to say that I was happy to be there. I'm just tickled by the absurdity of sitting there staring at an entirely empty north stand.

A proportion of these will be for hospitality season ticket members, and these will also be distributed by ballot.

I done it to Athens in 2001 for the rearranged match, small price to pay.

I wonder how many 'a proportion' is?

I'm not really bothered but it seems unnecessarily vague, especially when they have give an exact number on tickets being allocated to players, and is only going to lead to speculation that further fuels the bickering.

    🟢 Club Statement

We will allocate 60 Scottish Cup Final tickets to players and staff. The remaining 240 will be offered to 2020-21 season ticket holders via ballot, with a proportion of these offered to hospitality season ticket members also via ballot.

    https://t.co/D7TyvyMLm2

Those eligible to apply will receive more information via email and we will post details on our website. The ballot process will open on Monday 17 May. We know many fans will feel disappointed, but hope our supporters understand the situation.

Best decision IMO. The club are almost in a no win situation here.

The wording seems to indicate that the club are embarrassed by the amount that are going to corporate. Ordinary season ticket holders getting shafted again.

Still unclear what happens if a child's ST is drawn.

Only two realistic options I can think of:

    - Don't assign tickets to kids at all (i.e. if a child's ST is drawn then it's discarded and another is drawn instead – seems harsh)
    - If a child's ST is drawn, an adult from their group is assigned a ticket as well

No doubt some will see the second option as unfair since a group is getting two tickets in one go, but to me it seems a lot less unfair than just saying 'no kids at all get to go'.

    Really difficult situation for Hibs.

5 pairs available in the corporate ballot is what I was told by someone who asked.
