I struggle to comment on this thread as I am so annoyed. I hold the SFA and SNP in very low regard so anything I say will be tainted but how can anybody think that allowing 300 Hibs fans into a 50,000 seater stadium is reasonable or proportionate. You could treat 600 people suffering from Ebola in an extreme social distancing setting and still get more in. Jason Leitch should be using Warburtons hat. Why are we discussing how the tickets might be distributed? We should be asking where is the science to justify this numbers. There were more people indoors at the Crucible than is proposed in Hampden. I guarantee if Govan’S finest were playing they would have got almost 1700 as a starting point.........RANT OVER

There is only one side of the stadium available as the other three sides are still under preparation for the Euros as there is stringent covid control measures being put in place.

Hence the SFA applied for 2000/maybe 3,000 tickets in an area that can hold 10,000 to 12,000 which feels about right given seat spacing for covid.

There is also serious worries about Glasgow as a whole as testing in certain areas in the south side of Glasgow where Hampden is situated has covid clusters that exceeds the allowed limits in some cases by double the amount and so the city may not move to level 2 next week.

These new covid clusters are caused in part by the Indian variant and its not clear if the AstraZeneca vaccine will protect against this though Pfizer and Moderna do.

I’m astonished that any AST holder feels entitled to these tickets before season ticket holders who haven’t signed up for the AST. The vast majority or Hibs fans could never commit to that due to financial/family/work reasons. The only hierarchy of Hibs fans should be the difference between season ticket holders and walk ups for obvious commercial reasons. Once family/work ties ease I’ll probably get the AST but I would never want to be put to the front of the line in situations like this.

Stevie, there is no system that keeps everyone happy, the loyalty scheme was despised because of the HSL debacle, I thought it was a great system. The AST is now seen as elitist and a level of priority above “normal” season ticket holders and to be honest it probably is. We only get a semblance of priority for big games or games with limited capacity. I never hear anybody complaining about getting tickets for Ross County away on a Wednesday night a couple of weeks before Christmas. If i am lucky enough to get a ticket I will be delighted and I am sure our club will get slated regardless of what they do. Anyway all that matters is that we win this cup on 22/5/2021. Let’s get behind the team and good luck to the lucky people who get a ticket

I made the comment about the AST being a level of priority above a normal season ticket. I have one and don’t think it’s elitist but I don’t think there can be any argument it gives an additional level of priority. I think it’s good that the club offer that to the relatively small number who are there every week and hope they continue to do so in the future.

Has anyone come up with the answer as to why the sfa asked the Scottish Government rather than the Glasgow Council for 'up to' 5,000 fans? All in accordance with the Scottish government guidance????

I don’t agree with the decision to allow so few fans in but I’ve come to terms with it.

I personally just think we need to accept no fans are allowed in but the club are allowed a few extra friends and family or sponsors in rather than crowds being allowed in.

My gripe now is more of a general point that Scotland’s route out of this is rubbish with no real intent to get things moving again. I also think they’re out of touch with reality.

Instead of being in a relatively safe outdoor environment people will be congregating in each other’s houses for cup final parties. They can’t be naive anyone to think the vast majority of people are still observing the rules they’ve put in place. They are far too convoluted and for the most part are being ignored, certainly by literally everybody I know that I’ve spoken to about it.

As a big SNP supporter, I’m really disappointed by how the Scottish government are doing with this.

Anyway, **** it, it is what it is and I’m not going to let the ridiculousness of this situation ruin the build up to the cup final for me.

I remember the uefa cup final last year when a group of Sevilla (I think) board member were clearly pished and made a great atmosphere out of it. I just hope the 300 Hibs fans whether that’s employees. Friends and family, NHS staff or AST holders really enjoy themselves and make themselves heard.

Considering what's happening at other events, the fact that 12k will be at Hampden 3 weeks after the cup final and considering the SFA asked for up to 3,000 fans to attend, 600 tickets is pathetic in my opinion and like I said shows total contempt to football fans.

I wonder if people will still be sitting here in August if stadiums are at 10% capacity using that same argument of "Aw well at least they're letting 2,000 into Easter Road on Saturday, that's 2,000 more than last season."

It's nonsense, most of the people who are at risk of death and serious illness from Covid-19 are now vaccinated. Add into the mix that it's outdoors where the risk is minimal and there's really no reason why 3,000 people (if that was what the SFA asked for) are not attending the final.

Ridiculous that a governing body does not have control of its own stadium for a national cup final, if they had all 4 stands at least there would maybe be a decent number there. Of course hindsight is a great thing, but the phases out of lockdown have been known for a decent amount of time with the prospect of fans being able to attend.

The Scottish Cup final should have been held 2 weeks ago but was moved forward due to the fixture pile up due to the earlier lockdown that disrupted the earlier rounds.

If you’ve seen us on a training camp playing a third tier Spanish outfit with no stadium and just a bit of rope at the side of the pitch, you’re in before someone who can only cite Cowdenbeath as the worst cowp they’ve been to.

I am sorry you cannot justify 300 tickets for Hibs in an area that can take 12,000.

If Glasgow is a death zone go to Murrayfield with a capacity of 60,000. Using your/SFA logic that would have given Hibs 1500 tickets or if a reasonable 10% applied 3,000.

Your defence, of what is an off the scale level of incompetence and disregard for football supporters, gives the SFA and Scottish Government a level of credibility that they do not deserve.

I imagine these tickets will be balloted and not sold as normal therefore AST wouldn’t apply. As an AST holder I agree this is the fairest way - all season ticket holders should have the same chance of getting a ticket.

Yeah, the T&Cs say committed to buy tickets. It doesn’t say anywhere guaranteed to be made available to them.
