If we can just randomly add points that we didn't actually earn, cant Aberdeen do the same?
In that case, if they had won every game, they'd have won the league.

There were conversations at the time about it happening - Aberdeen were terrible at the time but we didn’t capitalise against teams we’ve been better than all season. 7 ahead and three points away (8 of them).
Depends how you want to spin it though and I appreciate that.

Really could genuinely not care about 1 league result left tbh. The cup is all that matters after rangers going out. We could finish 4th and get beat 7-0 the next 2 games for all I care, makes no difference. Win the cup though that’s a different story. Our season has been pinpointed down to the Scottish cup not 3rd or 4th.

If we don't finish third after the advantage we held over Aberdeen I'd be fuming. Especially after today.
St Johnstone rested what, six or so first team players? We didn't, we played at full strength as much as possible. So we, as a club, clearly care about finishing third.
Shocking performance today. So deflated after that.

Hope we do emerge but that would be a horrible end of season collapse and,it is not impossible given the level of the performance,or lack of,today .
If that was combined with Cup failure that would be a truly awful end to our season.

Aberdeen 8/1 to finish top w/o the old firm so money to be made for those thinking we wont finish 3rd.

Before today's game I expected us to take at least as much from it as Aberdeen would take from their game at Livi.
I've been supporting Hibs long enough that I should've remembered that's not the way we do things.
Worst case scenario for me is Aberdeen to beat us on the 12th by up to 3 goals, meaning they will be level on 59 points with us but we will be 3 goals better off.
It will then be all down to how we get on against Celtic and how they fare v the Huns. Looking at it logically I can't see them taking anything away from Ibrox, and I think the most we can hope for is a point against Celtic. Or even if we lose I wouldn't expect it to be by more than they do, so we would finish in 3rd place.
Apologies for the negative post, and I hope to hell we clinch it by winning at Pittodrie, but that's not the Hibs way :(

A couple of days ago people were making out third wasn’t important and we should put all our focus on the cup.
This is what I feared.
Aberdeen have it all to gain here, been slaughtered all season for being poor and now they have the chance to nick third.
We’re never great against Aberdeen so I don’t fancy is at all and then Celtic and rangers fixtures are a lottery.
Not finishing third would be a massive massive blow.

For weeks I`ve been reading here that we were guaranteed third because Aberdeen would get nothing against Rangers and Celtic . Every year there are funny results at the end of the season with teams playing for very little dropping ponts to supposedly weaker teams who need the points ( Ross County at Tannadice for example ) . If we get to the last day hoping Rangers beat Aberdeen we`ll be struggling . I spent most of today`s game looking to see if Livi could get a point or more given that we never looked like scoring . If we draw at Pittodrie we should get third but if we lose even by one goal , it could be a difficult last day . If we`re in cup final , people will say it doesn`t matter but if we finish 4th and don`t win cup , this season will not be considered a success by many .

Massive opportunity missed and we’ve now put pressure on ourselves to go either go to Pittodrie to get something or get something from Celtic on the last day.
There was so much talk about how Aberdeen can’t win enough games after the split to turn it round and I think we all started believing/hoping that. As it is they’ve got 7/9 (thankfully Griffiths got that last minute goal last week) and have put themselves in a position to pull the 7 points back on us with 1 to play despite barely scoring a goal between January and April.
It should never have got to this.

Before we won the cup in 2016 we lost in the play offs to Falkirk. Yes, THAT Falkirk
We had also contrived that season to lose the league cup final to Ross County.
Nothing is ever easy or predetermined fate in the football universe. In the 3 or, hopefully, 4 matches left this season anything could happen. We could end up 3rd and Scottish cup winners, 4th and losing semi finalists or any combination of results inbetween.
I say buckle up and enjoy the ride. Football is frustrating but it can be f***ing brilliant as well.

Except the last time we played them, when we won 2-0
