Again, it’s unlikely to damage him. Forgetting the name of A Random Jock will play well in a lot of places.

Especially when Douglas Ross probably struggles with it as well.

Yorkshire might fancy it as well, in my 2/3rd of a lifetime down here its moved towards an economic divide between the northern and southern home counties and then the rest of the country again sadly, some of the less well set up seem happy enough with the drift towards the nastier side of nationalism so setting up a couple of states there might be a reasonable thing to do first.

The city, and working for the richest on the country on their terms should be fine.

Not normally one to defend Boris, but WM doesn't allow MPs to refer to each other by name, only by constituency, though tbf he got that wrong, DRoss is only the MP for the Moray constituency

Could Bozo just be confused and he thinks he's actually Douglas Murray, the even stupider twin of the now famous Duncan Murray?

Easy mistake to make when you see all the similarities.

Good morning Scotland on BBC radio shortbread were running with do you think it's fair that NHS workers in Scotland are getting a pay rise 4 times more than those in England.

When it came to Westminster Tony Blair was an obsessive hoarder of power away from actual MPs and into small rooms, but he did legislate for English devolution. I worked on the referendum in the north east about 20 years ago, regional polling wasn’t great then but there was a expectation that the independent minded Geordies would be first to vote for a split from London, it would have passed a fair bit of decision making power to NGOs and local authorities but No won quite easily. Although ‘city mayors’ remained as a sort of wet fart of the devolution project going forward, it was a failure, voters were persuaded that they just didn’t want another layer of politicians.

You read in places like Bella Caledonia that the English are ripe for to break away from London but I’m still a bit sceptical to be honest.

So the correct story is, what?; doctors are not including in the pay settlement and this will be resolved at a later date?

James Cook of the BBC was implying that doctors had been excluded from the 4% deal (ie. baaaaad!), whereas their negotiation is completely separate in any case.

The bbc story on the website, analysis Philip Sim paints a more positive picture. It would help knowing what the Scottish doctors settlement is and what is likely to be.

That piece is much better, but the James Cook tweet shows that some seem hell bent to put a negative slant on things if at all possible. He shouldn't even have mentioned doctors. It's like saying Hearts didn't advance in the cup on Wednesday night but neither did Hibs - factually correct but with a false implication.

    Last April doctors got 2.8%

All together 🎵 better paid in Scotland, you get better paid in Scotland

The question should be, is it fair that nurses in England are getting a quarter of the rise

Tories are offering 1%, a wee applause, and a union flag to fly every day.

    What's wrong with that?

Let's put both offers to the vote.

I see they have launched their election campaign with a host of policy and manifesto promises. NOT. Stop the SNP stop independence. As predictable as it is pathetic. They do not have a single positive thing to offer Scotland

Could she not trade it for a badge. 😂

The Tory government determining that the butcher's apron will be flown on UK Gov buildings every day. We just need to find out which tory donors own a flag making sweat shop.

I listened to it live and to me it sounded like he got caught between Dross's name and the constituency. He doesn't have the ability to pause to think and just blunders on knowing any mistakes don't cost him anyway. I'm more concerned that he never answers a single question rather than when he gets tongue tied.

Unison are putting it to a vote. Interesting points made by the union.

Willie Duffy, UNISON Scotland Head of Health said: “After weeks of negotiations we have now received a serious offer for a deal backdated to the 1 December 2020 from the Scottish government. This is a final offer as a result of the forthcoming election. Tomorrow (Friday 26 March) UNISON Scotland Health Committee will agree how we consult UNISON members.
This past year has highlighted the dedication, skill and sacrifices that all NHS staff make. Their contribution must be recognised in their pay packets. It was simply not good enough to push negotiations to the summer and blame the UK Government for the delay so we are pleased to have made significant progress in these pay talks. However, the final decision on whether to accept this offer lies with UNISON members and we look forward to consulting them in the coming weeks.”

Nice of him saying it's a serious offer. They used to put recommendations on the deal, but maybe they want to sit on the fence and await the outcome.
