Remember my dad and his Hibby workmates going to travel agents to explore ways of how to get to Salonika such was the confidence at the time. Listened to second leg on radio, so disappointed, was looking forward to going abroad for the first time. Does anyone remember Alex Edwards right hook which floored the Split player who had been fouling him all night. Thank god the officials did not see it.

A classic Scottish Cup tie and a match that had everything Played in a gale with an electric atmosphere it had goals, controversy, crunching tackles, penalties and all topped off with a pitch invasion
There was no TV coverage thanks to a dispute so 20000 crammed into Easter Road
Celtic took a 1-0 half-time lead thanks to a Brian McClair strike from a corner
Stevie Cowan equalised when he bundled the ball over the line in 51 minutes going down the slope
Mark McGhee put Celtic back in front 10 minutes later when he hammered a pass from Johnston into the roof of the net Gordon Chisholm then headed HIBS level with a towering header Stevie Cowan put HIBS 3-2 ahead from the penalty spot
Celtic were then awarded a soft penalty two minutes later that McClair scored with only minutes left on the clock
Joe Tortolano then swept a beautiful ball over to the right wing to substitute ‘ Bomber Harris’ who swept in a low cross that was met by the almost prostrate diving figure of Eddie May to head HIBS into the semifinals of the Scottish Cup and send the East radge
