Thank God he's gone....at least for now. Time will tell how politically influential he will remain.

It really does feel like something unreal has ended.

The easiest way to describe how I feel is by comparing it to waking up from a nightmare, but I think it's more like recovering from a horrible illness or fever.

I just hope they vaccinate us by progressing the impeachment to its fullest conclusion and stop it ever happening again.

Sadly he legitimized a large number of questionable groups and nutjob theories, and the effect of that won't go away so easily.

The rather camp named 'Proud Boys' is just one of those and I understand it's appeal has now expanded to some people from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Where he studied Latin and Ancient Greek.

There's much, much more to classics than being able to speak Latin! A much more worthwhile subject than many that are now in the curriculum.

Agreed, anyone studying contemporary languages, maths or any of the sciences would do well to study Latin. My 12 year old has chosen it for his 2nd foreign language from a choice between French, Spanish, Russian or Latin.

The use of Latin among the Upper Classes is merely a continuation of the 'them and us' divisions of past eras.

When the Normans invaded England, they had a language divide whereby they could identify those in the 'elite', and look down on the inferior, Anglo-Saxons. When this died out, they adopted the language the RC church had been using to similar effect.

Combined with being able to identify quotations from obscure historical texts taught only in Private Schools, this is an excellent perpetuation of Class Division, both making them feel good about themselves and easily identifying their equals (very useful when it comes to hiring and promotion).

Giuliani being sued for £1.3bn. The legal profession will be very busy over the next decade dealing with Trump and associates.

As expected. Party politics over country yet again.

Expect Trump to start his re-election campaign pretty quickly now.
